I’ve seen him at 20 and deep in round 2. Everybody is hung up over the style of offense Tennessee ran. I think the kid is a stud and I also like his teammate Cedric Tillman.
There are very good receivers in this draft. I expect Schoen to draft 2, 1 very early and I’d be happy with Hyatt in round 1.
I initially thought that Hyatt might be a better fit for our offense, because his deep threat ability could open things up for Barkley and for the underneath throws.
But supposedly, during his interviews at the combine, Hyatt was telling teams that he viewed himself more as a slot WR. (Probably not the best thing to tell teams, given that the draft is full of slot WRs.)
at least for me. That Alabama defense might be as close to an NFL talent level as you'll get in CFB, but it's not the same. Not as fast, not as sophisticated... talent from position to position is less consistent. (Even on Alabama, not every starter is a future NFL starter.)
So while it is impressive for any player to score 5 TDs against Alabama, that doesn't tell me he's a sure-fire #1 pick for the Giants or anyone else.

Why exactly is he a "reach"? Because Mel Kiper has him ranked as a 2nd rounder?
