The Giants could take less than two firsts, which I would.
I'd take a 1st and 3rd (2023) ... 1st (2023) and 2nd (2024) ...
I don't think we'd get anywhere near that for Barkley. The RB position has been devalued for years, the draft is loaded with good RBs, and Barkley has a pretty lengthy injury history. My guess is the Giants would get a third and a day three pick at best, picks that aren't as valuable to the team as keeping him for another year while the presumably draft his replacement. Remember that any team trading for Barkley has to be willing to sign him to a long-term deal in excess of the $12.5M offer from the Giants he apparently turned down last year.

Rather continue to put my money into the OL and draft RBs than pay them... As much as i'd miss SB i could live without him it if we continue to build the OL. Pass pro and rushing attack go as the OL goes...
I guess Myers (or Mets) isn't signing with the Giants. Good.
He’s a mediocre #2 asking for 16mil a year. Please no.
Its crazy that people get all bent out of shape over what a guy is "asking" or "wants". Look, people generally look for the highest compensation they can get and employers look to minimize cost. Somewhere in the middle is a meeting point called fair market value.
RE: RE: RE: Slayton is more than a 4/5, c'mon lol.
Randle was better too
Slayton drops too many balls to be considered a starting WR.
I know they are different types of WR but I’d take Richie James over Slayton.
Slayton is more of a deep threat but I just don’t trust him to make the big catches.
So far Joe Schoen seems to be focusing on his own F.A.'s...
Over the years, the % of FA contracts signed during the legal tampering period where a team ends up eating dead money. I’d be it’s well over 50% if you exclude 1 year deals.
Point is, most of these signings look exciting but actually become a burden down the line. Over the last 2 decades, the smart & winning franchises have been Baltimore, Pitt, Philly, GB, Seattle, NE. Those teams have always been disciplined in how they attack the early days of FA (save for one spending spree by the Pats a few years back that didn’t work out too well)
I don't mind JS letting everyone else eat up cap room on DT's and ILB's and then swoop in to grab someone cheaper. We definitely have needs at both positions, but they are also positions where players can go from quality starter to overpaid very quickly (see Snacks Harrison).

That is my point. DT and ILB tend to be positions where players tend to be broken down quickly as the first step is everything. So you are better off with shorter term less monetary commitment.

i get it snack was 26/27 when we signed him
his size did him in vernon was a worse contract
either or, besides a starting ILB we are more than likely looking for solid rotational guys
they want to continue to build with and provide much needed depth and camp comp. no problems with what he’s done so far. The coaches have a very big say, or so it appears. Once the smoke clears from the beginning salvos, he’ll start to address gaps and shortfalls in the roster. As he keeps saying, you can’t shop hungry otherwise you overpay and pick up players that are clearly just sticking around in the NFL for a paycheck.

I'm a huge Tremaine Edmunds fan, and he'll help the Bears. That said, they've now signed two off-ball linebackers today for $93M, and have major holes at premium positions.
Feels a bit like luxury spending when the house has no roof
as teams cap room dwindles, we should do better next few days
we have some restructures and extension we have to work on too
hoping guys like zach allen. calais C, long/okekere (sp)/tranquill, maybe dalvin
have heard zilch on odell if the price goes down, dont be surprised him, saquon and shep are tight sillier things have happened

Pretty sure Herndon is a depth/slot guy.
Yea that is such a common statement around here…Slayton is a 4 or 5.
Please find me a team with a better #4 than Slayton.
I've seen people speculate Denver but Sutton rather than Jeudy
Tunsil AND Taylor? Whoa

2024 13 mil
better to make sure it is verified than be quick... this isn't true.
I mean he is still available so never say never

Pretty sure Herndon is a depth/slot guy.
Remember the chatter how Randle was going to explode once he left Eli. Slayton reminds me a bit of him, or Manningham.
Too damn inconsistent.
Also lol Raiders. Garoppolo won't do a damn thing there.
Good I hope they reported wrong

Manningham was lightyears better than both of them. He's was underrated by many during his time here.

I agree with that, he was, but he struggled with some things as a Giant and (injury related to a degree) didn't do anything outside the Giants.

really want to get that solid ILB before there is a run on them
Schoen is doing his homework correctly.
Schoen is doing his homework correctly.
emonds, edwards and pratt gone
so it may have to be soon
That contract is huge... no thank you
snacks wasnt overpaif first yr

Yes we made the playoffs last year
No, we are no close to winning the super bowl
Schoen is building for sustainable success. The rebuild is only beginning.
Got on Schoen for not trying to accelerate the timeline just because of an over achieving season last year.

Totally agree. Build through the draft, grab some low to mid level FA’s to fill gaps. Re-sign your building block players.
