Apparently we weren't getting away with at least one decent sized storm here in East Orange County. About 4-5 inches so far and still coming, very heavy snow. Apparently in Tannersville (Catskills) there was a whopping 26 inches of snow as of 1 hour ago.
What is everyone looking at on snow? Snow day? Driving to work anyway? I'm wfh today and I'll try to enjoy it with Day 2 of FA afoot.
I take the blame. I brought my snow blower to be tuned up...the works...last November....and it just sits in my garage still....a warrior without a war.
Sigh.
I welcome the precipitation since we need it, but I too prefer rain at this point.
however, the forecast says between noon and one it will turn to snow and we could get 6 - 10 inches of snow, but I'm skeptical.
It’s F'ing March.
Leaving on Thursday for the Bahamas, so there is that.

Here is Palmer, Mass, it’s been coming down heavy since daybreak - but the weather app insists it’s been raining and will turn to snow in the afternoon lol. I mostly work from home so pretty much business as usual but my wife left before dawn to work outside Boston (she’s an area manager and works from home some days but had to be in the field today, unfortunately).

all rain here in my area of MA, but I'm just south of the rain snow line. People 5 miles away have a foot of snow.

How old are you Pepper? My college roommate is from Palmer and before I share his name wanted to see if you were anywhere near his age.
Normally I wouldn't even ask, but Palmer is a small-ish town.

Oh wow, stay safe! Hope the power holds out for you

I’m 60 - but I didn’t grow up here. I moved to Mass in mid-2020

I'm in central NJ and we haven't really gotten anything yet either. I blame the fact that I put in the orange reflective poles along my drive way in November. Last year I forgot to put them and and when it did snow, the ground was frozen. This year I put them in and we will probably never need to be plowed.
Once you get out of the CT River Valley they're reporting 6-12" and snowing heavily.
8 plus inches so far in Schenectady, and still falling. And it IS heavy! (Very wet packing snow). So far, my electric snowblower is working like a champ, but I have to hand shovel the Snow Plow piles (Ugh.)
I miss light fluffy snow. At least this is nothing like the 1993 storm...that really sucked!
The Blizzard of March 1993 March 12-14, 1993 (AKA, The March Superstorm) - ( New Window )

There is a reason that the saying is "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb"....that is until the occasional April snow...

As of noon, about an inch of wet snow. No accumulation yet on paved surfaces. 34 F & wind is picking up. snowfall is quite light right now.

Sheesh. We are up near Mt. Monadnock. Well over 24", probably 36" by the time this is done. Plow guy is swapping out to bigger and bigger equipment.
WMUR was saying the Keene / Peterborough area was going to get pounded. Good thing you have a plow guy. Even an inch of this stuff is like shoveling wet cement. Strangely, at 4:30 the pavement here is still clear and wet. Reports on 89 North and South of Lebanon are single lane and white-out conditions. Turning out to be an elevation event. Stay safe

I did not even need to use my snow blower.
And it wasn't even one of those storms that I didn't need to use it but still did, I really couldn't even use it.
We did get a lot of rain which we needed but could still use even more precipitation.

You got lucky, got nailed in central Mass., I would say more than a foot. Also lost power for about 9 hours during the daytime (that sucks when that happens). All is good today, cleaned off my car, just waiting for the plow now.

Good for you, when I heard the forecast, figured that north of me was going to get really nailed.
