Not sure if this has been discussed here, but for those who are interested in Hardman, including me, this could be an issue and the reason for Hardman not signing yet with anyone yet. It's a core injury....not sure how serious, but I'm sure teams are being a bit cautious.
surgery on Feb 23 - (
New Window )
That’s a really solid group provided they can stay healthy of course.

from signing him, easy surgery and recovery.

Sures sounds like a hernia...

I disagree, that group is very weak. Hardman isn't very good, Robinson hasn't proven anything, Hodgins had a good half a year and Waller is a big injury risk. They need more.

Draft pick, Hardman, Wandale, Hodgins plus Waller and Belly.

It's a useful group but there's no #1.

they would need more but the draft is where you need to add the most 'talent' to weak positions, especially premium positions.
waller and hodgins should/could each get over 100 targets this year. robinson would possibly be in that group if not for the health question. hardman has been a 40-80 target player in KC and has said publicly he wants to sign somewhere he can get a bigger role because he's produced any time he's gotten more targets. who knows what you get healthwise from shepard, but when healthy he can play.
it's still be a core need in the draft but even with just any 3 of those 5 healthy they'd have enough quality to put a better starting group on the field than last year even before draft.
they arent good enough because they dont have a dynamic threat at WR. you arent getting a veteran like that in FA or in a trade for a day 2 pick without significant risks which is probably why they chose waller.
add a christian watson or george pickens and that group looks a lot better, and that's the type of player we need to hope they find on day 1 or 2 of the draft.

You're not that guy pal.
Recovery from core injuries have a way of dragging out much longer than anyone should expect.
there is only so much cap room. id be really surprised if they add another 10m+ aav wr (or one of the guys on rookie deals like aiyuk or jeudy who id expect to cost a FRP or equivalent). i think okereke and waller were their 2 big splash moves.
i think the move is to add a value 2nd/3rd WR who can take the top off and can also add something on specials, along with a high pick in draft.

I think they are still looking. They knew they needed help at TE too.

Possibly. Would depend on their opinions of Williams and Jackson, IMO. They can easily free up money extending them both.

Anything can happen but football activities don’t start for months. Unless it’s something else than he should have a 100% recovery and be ready before the summer.

i think they will do that but i think they are going to use that freed up money to cover a bunch of depth upgrades. cb, another front 7, they still need to pay felciano and love.
like i said i think we are seeing them go from bigger moves down the food chain so i dont see them big footing the waller move unless something unexpected comes along (like hopkins or sutton being available way cheaper than expected for a day 3 pick). that is a smart way to play it because i think both of those guys are candidates to end up sort of in limbo just like bradberry last year and could end up being steals for someone around the draft.
