NGT: Aaron Rodgers on the Pat McAfee show today

Tim in Eternal Blue : 3/15/2023 10:21 am
I'm not sure what exactly he will divulge but it should be a news worthy segment for those that have been following this story.

Too much smoke for Rodgers not to go to the Jets. No way he retires and I can't see him returning to the Packers.

I think this gets done by the end of the week.
I would laugh my ass off

If Rodgers gets the Jets to sign Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis, and Randall Cobb and then he decides to retire.

That would make his public enemy number 1 in NYC. Would also be hilarious.
Tired of his act

I wouldnt dismiss retirement
nygiants16 : 3/15/2023 10:26 am : link
He takes the entire summer off already, once players start doing that it gets harder and harder to return for the next year...

He could go out and shoot a 67 tomorrow and say screw football i am going to go play low level golf..
Carr, while not as good as A.R, would have been a better fit for them.
Optimus-NY : 3/15/2023 10:27 am : link
Rodgers has a screw loose. Carr is younger, only would have cost money to sign (no draft picks), would be cheaper than Rodgers $wise, and is a better teammate.
yep, fancies himself a rock star with accountability
ColHowPepper : 3/15/2023 10:28 am : link
to no one, never a good look. I don't think it would be good or funny at all if he got Douglas to sign his faves and retired or otherwise did not wind up playing for the Jets. It would signal all the more that things are broken in the sports entertainment business.

Agree
I really enjoy the Aaron Rodgers saga
Tim in Eternal Blue : 3/15/2023 10:30 am : link

I love watching him play and I enjoy the theatrics (obviously because he's not on the Giants). It's entertainment after all.

I think he really enjoys this attention that he's getting. So he's just stretching it as long as he can. No chance he retires the same year as Brady. His ego won't let him share the spotlight as the HOF headliner. IMV
.....

The funny part is the Jets offense truly felt like it was quarterback away from being an above average unit with their young talent on board.

Here comes Rodgers - demanding they fill the roster with his Green Bay has beens haha
I'll be watching

Rodgers
Kmed6000 : 3/15/2023 10:33 am : link
goes by the beat of his own drum. I don't know if money motivates him like people think. That being said, I can't imagine the Jets are getting Rodgers' guys and he doesn't agree to go.

I still think it's a terrible idea, but if the cost is minimal, the Jets don't have a choice. He had to be begged and coerced to play on the Jets and the journey is never easy. Whats gonna happen when things get tough? Is he fully in? I don't htink Rodgers is that guy anymore.

I would love it. Just hate him going to the Jets, will have to dislike him during his time there:

Carrs cold weather stats are frightening at his cost - 2-8 with 11 TDs and 12 Ints. Add in a 57% completion rate and a bunch of fumbles. The Jets avoided a big mistake with him.
99% HE IS SIGNING WITH THEM

I would love to be wrong because I despise that team.

It'll be announced tomorrow

I thought the Jets had a pretty solid receiving corps and just needed a QB. So if Rodgers has agreed to sign pending the Jets signing his receiver buddies, don’t you think he is also going to want to dictate which receivers get the most playing time?

Why with such certainty?
Maybe a ploy to get his friends deals!

Wouldn't that be a laugh.....

I got you deals, boys! Off to retirement I go.

He has to be traded and, the Jets want multiple first round picks. It’s not a done deal yet.

Even better...if Rodgers gets the Jets to sign Lizard, Lewis, and Cobb, and then signs with the Patriots!

Won't happen, but WFAN would be must hear radio that day if the impossible happens. You KNOW Belichick would LOVE to do this to the Jets!
I can’t believe the Jets would sign Lazard
Section331 : 3/15/2023 11:35 am : link
without assurances from AR that he will go there. Although considering it is Rodgers, anything can happen. Wouldn’t that be a kick in the ass to the Jets, sign AR’s guy and he goes back to GB anyway!
NYC and Rodgers will make for some exciting news
George from PA : 3/15/2023 11:43 am : link
But my guess....not in a good way
I love it.

I want them on Hard knocks.
This whole thing being treated like LeBron's "The Decision"
Strahan91 : 3/15/2023 12:39 pm : link
when Rodgers is 39 years old (will be 40 in December), coming off his worst pro season as a full time starter is hilariously "Jetsy". Never mind the fact he's only made it to one super bowl over a decade ago despite playing on some really stacked GB teams.

Pat Kirwan said on his show yesterday that any signings don't become official yet and that the Jets should jut tell those guys to get lost if Rogers flakes on them today.
Good lord

What a drama queen. He's just stretching this out more and more. It's like LeBron taking his talents to South Beach. So full of himself.

I don't like him.
