I despise Roseman b/c he’s a whiny prick but, he’s no dummy. He sold them on the fact that they have an open window to win a ring now and still need them.
Agree, but they just could not sign their top five tacklers from last year. That’s a Defense that already had issues. Then they re-signed four players on defence who were showing signs of decline (finally). And they just lost their offensive and defensive coordinators I am already looking forward to taking the over in every game they play next year.
The guys they are signing are very old for NFL standards. Some were being phased out last season and some of these guys will be on the books for 5 years.
Slay was not playing well at the end of last season. He is in decline and really should be a role player. These guys still think they are a Super Bowl team but the truth is if Purdy doesn’t get hurt the 49ers win that game. Now the 49ers signed their best DT away.
They are not going to be the dominate team they were last year and will most likely implode. They will be paying Kelce for the next 6 years. All of their veteran depth is gone. I would bet the Eagles are going to struggle to make the playoffs next season.

I’d venture to guess they win the division. And I’m sure they’d sacrifice cap hell for another shot at the Super Bowl. It’s the Eagles - we all hate them and want them to implode, but no matter how hard we wish it on them it won’t make it any more realistic.
Fletcher Cox and now Slay playing for less $$ than they would likely get elsewhere.
They are chasing rings. Not uncommon with players on the wrong side of 30. But if it doesn't work, the team is left with a bunch of declining players on the wrong side of 30 under contract.
because they can always trade their aging, moldy, broken-down overhyped shit for multiple first round picks to bad teams. It's nothing about the contracts. It's about having compromising pictures of other NFL owners.
They have taken a hit with losing players, but they have replacements mostly lined up. But the changes will have an impact, and they are getting older.
Thee bigger thing will be injuries. We have been one of the most injured teams last year, while they were one of the least injured. So will this continue?

Yes. iirc Phila took 22 healthy starters deep into the season. Week 12 or 13 I believe.
Unfortunately the Eagles have all those draft picks
The Philadelphia Eagles and star cornerback Darius Slay agreed to a $42 million extension that includes $23 million fully guaranteed, his agents told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Thursday.
That means they pushed more of his dead money into future years and added more guaranteed money on top of that. The Eagles are going to be a cap mess next offseason. Link - ( New Window )
+1
Maybe but they are going to be tight cap wise when Hurts gets his new deal, Smith his, their Oline guys their new deals..
I am glad they are keeping a bunch- beat them straight up..
Amazing what a competent front office can do for you.
Slay 32, Bradberry 30, Graham 36, Cox 33, Kelce 36
Vs players walking
Semaulo, Dillard, white, Epps - 27
CGJ 25, sanders - 25
Edwards 26
Sorry but that’s not a long term strategy for success.

Never fazes them? Have you not been paying attention this offseason? They’ve lost a lot of really good players
