Giants got a lot faster with him and Waller. He has played a lot of slot but probably falls under that umbrella of guys they see can contribute outside.

Had Campbell as one of my top targets for NYG entering FA. History with WR coach Mike Groh, good fit in this offense predicated on route running, desperate for speed.

2019 second-round pick missed 34 games due to injury in his first three seasons. He was finally healthy last season and had 63 catches for 623 yards and 3 TD. Played in the slot 77% of snaps last year. WR coach Mike Groh was with Campbell for two years in Indy
He played in all 17 games last year... that is noticeable. His bad luck could be over and gets it together... He has great speed, good route runner, and good hands.

Agreed
RE: sort of interesting he played 82% slot last year
for his career he's been 68% slot, 32% wide. he also had a similar % at OSU. so he's played a lot more slot than slayton.
6% drop rate at IND and 8% drop rate at OSU so he catches the ball better than slayton.
he hasn't been as explosive by YPC but athletically he replaces slayton's speed.
when in doubt going with an OSU receiver isnt the worst idea.
I noticed the ypc too. Very low. I had interest in Campbell over the last few years. It was mostly injuries that derailed him but I also thought that Indy was using him all wrong. How does a guy with that explosion average 10 yards per catch? Daboll and Kafka will get this guy the ball with room to run. I think they can get more out of him than he has shown thus far in his career.

which is too much of a theme with wr group and we'll see what the price is but i have no issue rolling the dice on someone other than slayton.
i think it was campbell who caught the long jump ball against the nyg in the week 17 game.
If the dollars are low don't mind it. High upside but ANOTHER potential injury prone guy. Obviously can't be the only thing we do. However if he is kind of an add as another WR2 or WR3 option...not terrible.
We still need ideally to trade for a low contract potential WR1 like eudy/Pittman/Aiyuk. Otherwise at minimum hit it hard in the draft.

this is last year in indy, the vast majority of his targets were 9 yards or less downfield. almost 20% were behind the LOS.
I figured the Giants would be very attractive as a 1 year prove it destination for some of these upside guys. You'll have a great opportunity for a high target share with offensive coaches that have a strong reputation.
signing. His injury history likely drives down his price, but you either take a chance on a WR like him, or overpay in terms of salary and draft picks for Jeudy, Sutton, etc. I assume this also means that Slayton and James are likely gone, which is fine.
I wonder what Sy thought of him at draft time? Drafted in 2nd round
4: Paris Campbell – Ohio State – 6’0/205
Grade: 78
Summary: After a very successful high school track career, Campbell arrived at Ohio State and had to wait awhile before he made a big impact on offense. He turned from athlete to football player and ended his career with two straight All-Big 10 seasons, 2018 being a 1st Team honor. The team captain showed glimpses of elite, game breaking talent who is based on speed and easy movement. He is one of those players who is simply playing at a different speed than his opponents, no matter who is on the field. He still has some rawness to his game but receivers in the Ohio State offense don’t always get the full opportunity to show what they can really do. There is a boom or bust label next to Campbell’s name, but at the very least he will be a dangerous return man and gimmick-player who opposing defenses do not want to deal with.
*I was recently told by someone I trust that Campbell is “definitely” going to be the first WR taken. The NFL loves his skill set and top tier explosion. Campbell has the look of a star but there are a couple things missing for me. First, I think he lacks some of the toughness that is required to be an effective slot and there is an inconsistent attention to detail that isn’t always needed in the OSU offense. Upside is undeniable and I do think he will make plays, but I wouldn’t want him to be my number one guy.
A risk potential reward signing. If its a one year deal I like it. He has played 7. 2. 6 and then 17 games.
Could be a lot of upside here. Giants also got to see him on the field this year in addition to preparing for him so they should have a good idea on him imv.
Really liked him in college and wanted the Giants to snag him in the draft. Still some upside there too, if he can stay on the field. He brings upside and the Giants offer opportunity
Coaches often sour on players who can't stay on the field. It screws up their planning, wastes their time, and makes them scramble to backfill, when they barely have time to game-plan from week to week and run decent practices to prepare for Sunday.
I suspect he's more expensive than his four-year stats might suggest.
in some ways this is similar to the john ross signing
which was a fine signing until he got injured. i dont mind the gamble though. id rather gamble on a guy with talent not getting injured than gambling on slayton somehow improving his talent catching the ball.

Be patient, the team seems to be looking for bargains in Free Agency. They still have a little money to spend on FAs, 10 draft picks, and few of the injured OL coming back. The team is far from done this off-season and I'm sure we will see some OL additions before they are through.

Obviously durability concerns that you'd hope are baked into the contract. But Campbell ran a 4.31 40 at the 2019 combine and fits the separation emphasis for WRs in this offense. Getting faster has clearly been an emphasis this offseason.
I like this signing by Schoen.

and was confused..but if you go watch his highlights with Indy, it makes sense..he was used almost exclusively underneath...that is automatically going to lower his ypc.
But you can see his ability on those sorts of routes..he has explosion. I like it more after watching his 2022 highlight reel...he can definitely play..and shows some versatility in his game...based on what Kafka was going last year he brings more versatility to the WR group, along with some explosive yac ability...which we've been horrible at for some time now.

I was afraid we overpaid him but when I saw 1 year/3 mil I was more than pleasantly surprised. Very good signing for that money.
Last year was his 1st full season. He essentially missed almost all of his 1st 3 seasons in the league which is a concern. But he is talented and a legit #3 receiver when healthy. This also signals that Slayton is gone. I still would like to see them bring in Theilen and draft a WR in either the 1st or 2nd round.

Definitely. When I watched them it wasn't just the underneath routes but the actual routes themselves. They were like hitches. You aren't going to be running after the catch a lot on those types of routes. Under Garrett all we said was his offense was archaic. We'd run all hitches and then Jones would hold the ball when his first read wasn't open which then turned into he sucks and can't read a defense. That isn't a play to have reads on and go through progressions. It's dumb. Then, one year later, we are seeing our coaches make guys like Sills, Slayton, Hodgins, James, etc. look halfway decent. It is the plays they have installed. So, I still expect Campbell to be running shorter routes but there is a huge difference between a 9 yard crossing route and a 9 yard hitch. I really like this signing.
I still was hoping to acquire a WR or TE without a resume full of injuries. I really want to get past that….it seems guys with resumes are less likely to stay healthy all season. I hope I’m wrong on this.

guys like Campbell and Smith are what is available since the Giants smartly don't want to overpay. Two WRs and a TE with speed. My guess is we add two WR in the draft and perhaps another after final cuts. Resigning Slayton and/or James is also possible, although that seems less likely now.
wouldnt go that far. hodgins was the highest rated in every advanced metric by a good margin and the ability to catch the football is something he's shown going back to college. a half season isn't such a small sample size.
I'm excited about the possibility of Parris Campbell
you can see they used him behind the los even more than indy last year. he caught 82% of his targets for 91 receptions, 1k yards, 12 tds. and on 80 of his catches he was targeted 4 yards or less downfield.
campbell may be more of an upside replacement for richie james than slayton. though ideally he does a combo of both.

Yes I’m getting concerned that the collection of “weapons” we have can coexist. Are there enough touches to go around? I’d look at what the greatest show on turf rams did but concerned our collection of weapons dwarfs those guys.
Sarcasm off.
and have a similar impact to Ross. But you have to assume that the Giants will also have a high draft pick and potentially another of these signings in play as well. It's a 1yr.

Wide Receiver: Parris Campbell

Before the potential wave of releases, this looks to be a very weak free-agent wide receiver class at the top. But for teams in need of a dependable WR3, and perhaps even a WR2 if he can stay healthy, Campbell is an option. He has dropped just six of the 103 catchable passes thrown his way since entering the NFL.

wouldn't count on Wan' Dale this year. He tore his ACL pretty late in the season and his whole game is predicated on lateral quickness and shiftiness. That takes time to come back.
as the fastest ball carrier in 2002, at 22.11 MPH. Incredibly, it was on a 26 yard touchdown run. You usually see those higher MPHs on longer plays where the player has time to build up to top speed. Nextgen: Fastest Ball Carriers - ( New Window )
hodgins performed the best last year, the only caveat is he played 11 actives because buf had him inactive for most of the year.
campbell is an upside depth signing coming off his own personal best year but in a game tomorrow he'd be the 3rd option behind the other 2.
based on numbers they are clearly going to continue adding more receivers through the rest of the offseason and almost definitely draft someone day 1 or 2.
He had one of the best combines I can ever recall for wide receivers n 2019. So much so that he was drafted eighteen slots ahead of his Buckeye teammate, Terry McLaurin.
The injury risk is legit and that is the only reason he is coming so cheap. If he can stay healthy, he could be the best/fastest slot receiver in the NFL. Well worth the risk. Waller, Breida, Barkley, Campbell and Smith/Robinson on the field at the same time would be among the fastest offensive playmaking tandems in the NFL.
Huge improvement already if they can stay healthy. Just need our number one receiver now.
didn't break the bank on the money. no long term commitment if he can't stay healthy. and when healthy he's a better player and a more reliable player than slayton.
they also needed speed to clear things out for waller.
i'd love to see them draft tillman from tennessee in rd 2 and tank dell in round 3.

if you just prorate hodgins to a full season he was going to get close to 1k yards and 10tds. that's despite getting claimed mid year and learning a new offense. next gen stats had his ability to catch the ball in the 85th percentile and overall the 21st highest rated receiver.
i like the campbell signing because id rather roll the dice on upside than slayton, but he's also likely taking less $ than slayton will get paid which says something about what the nfl thinks his chances are.
RE: RE: Won't anyone think about how this affects Jeff Smith?
obviously will depend on what he ends up getting but id have gone with hardman over campbell. more versatile and fewer injury risks. maybe his $ ask is way beyond that or maybe they didnt want to go multi-year deal, but this is a pretty expensive contract for a guy who has ended up on IR 3 out of 4 years so far.
But for 1-year, 3M, it's a nice prove-it deal and Campbell does have excellent speed. He probably plays slot and WR4 while Wan'Dale is out.
Right now he’s our starting WR. If we draft someone high then Campbell likely still starts. He’s only a WR4 if everything else goes to plan and works out which isn’t likely.
Cheap players who had some bad luck but are good football players with something to prove
So does this change what FA receive is next?
If you were a Hardman or Chark person does this which one of those you prefer now, if you could still get one?
i think campbell and hardman are a little too duplicative of each other's skill sets. they both catch a lot of balls at or around the line of scrimmage.
chark is more of a prototypical outside receiver. i could see him or slayton on similar 1 year deal + incentives.
seeing campbell's price almost double beyond the initial 3m reported is a little surprising to me but i guess they like him that much.

DJ Chark! I mean he's also an injury-prone WR, but I love those H/W/S guys
again... John Ross best year 28 catches with 8 drops... second best year 21 catches with 7 drops. This is not the same. Campbell issue is he couldn't stay healthy, but last year played all 17 games finally and put up a over 60 catch over 600 yard season with crap at QB. He is fast, has good hands, and runs good routes. He is going to make an impact on our team. This isn't John Ross.

Kinda goes without saying, no? Especially with the draft.
“Smart, tough, dependable”. Maybe not as important as posters like to think.
You can't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. If you decide Paris Campbell isn't dependable enough for you, then sure, you don't sign him, but that's not the question. The question is: Is he an upgrade over the worst WR on the roster? The Giants WR depth chart is a horror show. There are a lot of guys who are barely NFL players. Parris Campbell bumps one of them off the roster.
He doesn't have to be everything you'd want to be something you want.
That this regime values separation above all other traits.
There was talk at some point lst season that Jones doesn't like to throw 50/50 balls — maybe because it was sort of beaten into him not to take chances with the football. That reluctance was supposed to have been a reason he didn't mesh well with Golladay. Golladay isn't often "open," so DJ didn't throw to him. Golladay's game was supposed to be making catches when he's "covered," and DJ didn't trust him for that.
So if the idea is to that DJ will throw to guys who get separation, and won't to guys who don't, then yeah, separation is the most important thing.
At some point, it'd be nice for DJ to have a WR he trusts enough to throw to when the WR doesn't have separation. That guy probably has to come through the draft.
think some of you guys are under the impression that the Campbell/Smith's of the world = Schoen done looking for better/long term weapons for DJ. They can both look for short-term, "better than what they had last year" options, while keeping their eyes on "legit good NFL weapons" as the goal longer term.
hodgins performed the best last year, the only caveat is he played 11 actives because buf had him inactive for most of the year.

He may be #2 option. Much more speed than Hodgins.
Defensive coordinators weren't worried about Hodgins beating them. No one on the team required double coverage last year. Getting Waller and Campbell means there are now two players who can stretch the field and score on long plays. DC's are now going to have to scheme a little to play against this offense.

They are at least starting to get depth with guys better than who we had/have in place. IF (big if) Shepard gets healthy and Robinson gets healthy, we are starting to build a better unit. Hodgins is a nice to have, but should not be on the field for most of the snaps. I have a feeling, though, they will be rotating guys in and out regularly, every couple of snaps.
Teams will now have to pay attention to Waller and Campbell, both of whom can stretch the field, which will allow Hodgins and James to operate underneath. That, plus they need to worry about Saquon either rushing or on screens and designed receiving plays. Not to mention DJ rushing as well. Adding another vet WR and one in the draft will really help this offense open up.
he's not much of a big play guy dating back to college.
They throw so many passes at or near the line of scrimmage to him because he can make a guy miss and pick up 6-10 yards easy. When he went deep he would catch some bad throws. I think he hasn't even reached his potential.
This may have been plan B. We ll never know. But I like it.
However ... this shows how bad our pass catching options were (are). I think we all really like Bellinger for the most part and he was our best option for a couple weeks there before Hodgins started to get his shot. Waller over takes Bellinger and Campbell takes Hodgin's spot potentially, at least by popular opinion. Neither player is going to have DC's like ok we need to contain him.
Campbell is our shinny new used car ... He is a number 2 *when* healthy. We still need a #1 and Robinson is not that. Personally at this point I'd like to resign Slayton and draft 2 more WRs with #1 potential in mind. With this pick-up and the other moves ... I'm shifting my guess to cluster approach in rds 1 thru 3 from 2 WRs, 1CB and BPA on IOL/OLB/ILB to WR(1), CB(1) and IOL(1)
I was semi surprised at the ILB move ... splashier than I expected. As I said in the other thread last week maybe some semi-slasphy at the position more like the David Long deal. But I was thinking they'll rely on Beavers to come back to form. They are moving with a whole different vibe and energy in the front office. Now if they can take care of the above and hedge the Azeez bet well will be in really good shape for year 2 in the process of Joe & Brian era ....
but Campbell wasn't really used as a stretch the field type. Not saying he couldn't be used that way. He was used more as an explosive yac underneath target, and has jet sweep ability..so that would fit nicely into what Kafka was doing with the offense a year ago. He operated a lot out of the slot. Waller looks more like the stretch the field guy right now looking at his highlights. Again, not saying Campbell couldn't do that, it's just not really how he was used previously(or in college based on what other posters have mentioned). Despite having a shorter adot, he did produce chunk plays. 9 20+(7 20+ receptions and 2 20+ runs), and 1 40+ reception.
Boylhart gave him an early 2nd round grade and compares him to Cruz
If your selecting Paris thinking he is the type of receiver who is a potential franchise receiver I’m not sure that would be very smart. He is an impact player who can have an impact without touching the ball as often as other receivers. By moving him around your offense you magnify his speed and quickness and elusiveness. Keep him at one position outside the hash marks and his speed, quickness, and elusiveness will become less impacting and he can be defended by physical corners with help over the top. Can Paris become an every down receiver? Of course, but he has to learn the route tree on the outside and become more physical and show consistency catching contested passes, but the question is, why bother? As long as he is an impact player keep moving him around your offense and let him impact. Victor Cruz was moved to the outside because the Giants gave him a big contract and Victor never had the impact outside that he had being a slot or move receiver who lined up all around the offense.
I like this signing by Schoen.
I still believe the Giants will draft several WR’s in April.
Schoen at work building a roster.
For me now it’s all about the IOL now. Giants need a center and guard.
As much as I rag on Slayton, what does Campbell do better than Slayton
I think he is a replacement/upgrade for Ritchie James. But if you want to compare to slayton, he is a better route runner and a more agile athlete. Slayton is really only a vertical threat. Campbell can eat on under routes and create YAC but also has enough speed to go vertical
They have last year s draft class returning in which they investing the O line, you writing them off already. Also, unless I missed it, they have another draft coming up this April.
But Campbell had the 6th lowest depth of target in the NFL last year, at just a 6.5 yard avg.
It makes some sense to get him the ball quickly and let him use his skills to get YAC in open space, but I'd like to see Daboll/Kafka use him more on intermediate and deep routes, and I think he will.
I'm fairly ambivalent about this signing, but honestly, it's still a net-positive add given what this team trotted out at WR last year, as long as he can stay on the field.
And I like the emphasis on speed with Waller, Smith, and now PC.
I don't think anything they've done so far would change the approach to the draft in terms of targeting a WR. If the right player and value is there, then they will take a WR.
Before this we had Shep who might not make the roster because of all the injuries.
Then for all we know Robinson’s career could be toast, he tore his ACL and is a 5’8” receiver who is completely dependent on his quickness and cutting ability. He tore it late in the season and most guys do not get full speed until they are 2 years removed from their injury, so we can’t count on him until 2024.
Campbell is to going to be a starting slot receiver day 1 and we still might draft another one on day 3 of the draft The draft is overloaded with tiny slot guys.
I assume we are still looking for an outside guy and probably drafting one of those too.
1. We needed depth
2. We are still going to make a move for a top flight WR or draft one at 25. I think it’s good that giants aren’t shooting for top of market here. It makes me feel they believe they can get a deal done for Jeudy or may move up in April for a WR of choice

I don't think we know what Schoen and Daboll have in mind. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it's Zay Flowers in round one (I'm starting to think they crave slot receivers the way Belichick craves tight ends).

Right now I'd love to keep our 1 and 2. I'm 50/50 on giving the 2 for Jeudy but I WOULD do a 2023 3rd and a 2024 2nd if they'd take it.

3)They don't have a lot of $ to spend too...need to draft a couple, that's for sure. I doubt Denver would take that for Jeudy as well.
In his rookie year, 2019, suffered a sports hernia and missed two games, then suffered a broken hand and missed four games. In Week 2 of 2020, suffered a PCL/MCL to his left knee and was placed on IR. Activated for 2021 season and played in six games. Played in all 17 games in 2022, started in 16, and played the slot, possibly because he may have lost a step due to PCL/MCL injury. He may no longer have 4.4 speed. Would be nice if he did. We'll see.
Each year, includes receptions after the catch as well as handoffs. Campbell was the fastest recorded player in the league a year ago by nextgen at 22.11 mph, and impressively it was on a 26 yard run off a jet sweep. His speed is on full display in his 2022 highlights…I was impressed.

He is an interesting player. This is how the Colts employed him last year...but if you look at his career with the Colts(the sample sizes in the other years are much smaller obviously)...how he was used was varied:
Quote:
@TalkinGiants
Giants Paris Campbell alignment by the year
2022:
Slot: 77%
Outside: 23%
2021:
Slot: 9%
Outside: 91%
2020:
Slot: 95%
Outside: 5%
2019:
Slot: 48%
Outside: 52%
In 2021, his ADOT was 16.7. 2020 it was 11.9.
I'm assuming they must have had some pass pro issues in 2022(similar to the Giants in the past where Jones out of necessity had to get the ball out sooner, which forced the offense to shorten up their routes.) Michael Pittmans ADOT last year was only 6.9.(I did look and they gave up a whopping 60 sacks as a team).
One other interesting nextgen stat in Campbells favor
His average separation per route, was 3.5. That is an elite number. It tied for 7th in the league among wideouts. Nextgen started tracking that metric in 2017 and no NYG WR has ever hit or surpassed that number. Toney was the closest at 3.4 his rookie season.
heard of this Campbell kid, so I checked out a Colts forum where I found they refer to him as a slot receiver. As Wan Robinson is likely out for the 2024 campaign, can we expect that Campbell is basically taking Robinson's place as the slot/gadget guy?
i think it was campbell who caught the long jump ball against the nyg in the week 17 game.

#Giants have agreed to terms with former Colts WR Parris Campbell, per

Had Campbell as one of my top targets for NYG entering FA. History with WR coach Mike Groh, good fit in this offense predicated on route running, desperate for speed.
Yup, better to gamble on some upside when shopping there.

1st).
Mentioned Campbell as a free agent they liked the other day. He can play both inside and outside.
6% drop rate at IND and 8% drop rate at OSU so he catches the ball better than slayton.
he hasn't been as explosive by YPC but athletically he replaces slayton's speed.
when in doubt going with an OSU receiver isnt the worst idea.

2019 second-round pick missed 34 games due to injury in his first three seasons. He was finally healthy last season and had 63 catches for 623 yards and 3 TD. Played in the slot 77% of snaps last year. WR coach Mike Groh was with Campbell for two years in Indy

#Giants staff has shown an affinity for versatile WRs...
Coming off a season where he had about 700 yards from scrimmage and 5 TDs.
Get as many WRs into camp as you can and let them battle it out for 5-6 WR spots.

He’ll have a chance to break out. Type of guy who has needed a change of scenery.
Still think they draft a WR early.

I figured the Giants would be very attractive as a 1 year prove it destination for some of these upside guys. You'll have a great opportunity for a high target share with offensive coaches that have a strong reputation.
Yep, they knew it...
A risk potential reward signing. If its a one year deal I like it. He has played 7. 2. 6 and then 17 games.
Could be a lot of upside here. Giants also got to see him on the field this year in addition to preparing for him so they should have a good idea on him imv.
I suspect he's more expensive than his four-year stats might suggest.

Obviously durability concerns that you'd hope are baked into the contract. But Campbell ran a 4.31 40 at the 2019 combine and fits the separation emphasis for WRs in this offense. Getting faster has clearly been an emphasis this offseason.

On this roster? He very much is a difference maker if he can stay on the field.
Probably enters training camp as #1 WR

Guys without warts don't hit free agency.
wouldnt go that far. hodgins was the highest rated in every advanced metric by a good margin and the ability to catch the football is something he's shown going back to college. a half season isn't such a small sample size.

In regards to their pass catchers, they swapped out:
Slayton & James —> Waller & Campbell
This is a start. Now we need these guys and Robinson to stay healthy.
And I’m sure WR remains high on their priorities heading into the draft.

Yes.
campbell is an upside depth signing coming off his own personal best year but in a game tomorrow he'd be the 3rd option behind the other 2.
based on numbers they are clearly going to continue adding more receivers through the rest of the offseason and almost definitely draft someone day 1 or 2.
Just need our number one receiver now.

if you just prorate hodgins to a full season he was going to get close to 1k yards and 10tds. that's despite getting claimed mid year and learning a new offense. next gen stats had his ability to catch the ball in the 85th percentile and overall the 21st highest rated receiver.
i like the campbell signing because id rather roll the dice on upside than slayton, but he's also likely taking less $ than slayton will get paid which says something about what the nfl thinks his chances are.

Suppose we call him "Bubba." Would that do it for you?

The Giants, again, are not done at the wide receiver position. Still hoping to add to the group.
maybe theres a lighter market for slayton than expected.
So does this change what FA receive is next?
If you were a Hardman or Chark person does this which one of those you prefer now, if you could still get one?
Right now he’s our starting WR. If we draft someone high then Campbell likely still starts. He’s only a WR4 if everything else goes to plan and works out which isn’t likely.

i think campbell and hardman are a little too duplicative of each other's skill sets. they both catch a lot of balls at or around the line of scrimmage.
chark is more of a prototypical outside receiver. i could see him or slayton on similar 1 year deal + incentives.
seeing campbell's price almost double beyond the initial 3m reported is a little surprising to me but i guess they like him that much.

From Free Agency Frenzy on @nflnetwork: The #Giants have added Parris Campbell and Darren Waller in recent days. They’re still nosing around in free agency and the Draft to add more targets for Daniel Jones.
Nice contract. Hopefully he stays healthy.

He doesn't have to be everything you'd want to be something you want.
So if the idea is to that DJ will throw to guys who get separation, and won't to guys who don't, then yeah, separation is the most important thing.
At some point, it'd be nice for DJ to have a WR he trusts enough to throw to when the WR doesn't have separation. That guy probably has to come through the draft.

hodgins performed the best last year, the only caveat is he played 11 actives because buf had him inactive for most of the year.
campbell is an upside depth signing coming off his own personal best year but in a game tomorrow he'd be the 3rd option behind the other 2.
based on numbers they are clearly going to continue adding more receivers through the rest of the offseason and almost definitely draft someone day 1 or 2.

Defensive coordinators weren't worried about Hodgins beating them. No one on the team required double coverage last year. Getting Waller and Campbell means there are now two players who can stretch the field and score on long plays. DC's are now going to have to scheme a little to play against this offense.
Of course
Dependable has "nothing" to do with injuries...
This.
Seems something the Giants have gone off the rails on for the last decade.
And also what I look for in a woman (especially cheap).
Someone to help out in the slot.
Should be the WR4 when it's all said and done.
They throw so many passes at or near the line of scrimmage to him because he can make a guy miss and pick up 6-10 yards easy. When he went deep he would catch some bad throws. I think he hasn't even reached his potential.

For me it tough, dependable, and cheap. Don't care much about smarts

Parris Campbell on a 1 year deal has no impact on what the Giants do in the 1st round.
I still believe the Giants will draft several WR’s in April.
Schoen at work building a roster.
For me now it’s all about the IOL now. Giants need a center and guard.
catch the ball
Catch the football
Nice contract. Hopefully he stays healthy.
That was my original thoughts, but reading about him seems more than just a fast hopefully deep threat.
By most reports he has good hands and runs decent routes, Ross didn't have those qualities.

Right now I'd love to keep our 1 and 2. I'm 50/50 on giving the 2 for Jeudy but I WOULD do a 2023 3rd and a 2024 2nd if they'd take it.
Technically it is a $3M base if he doesn’t play a game. The bonuses kick in with playing time.

3)They don't have a lot of $ to spend too...need to draft a couple, that's for sure. I doubt Denver would take that for Jeudy as well.
Good to hear. Thanks for the info.
good find. here's a link to the video, looked like a pretty ho-hum play so wouldnt have thought anything of it.

He is an interesting player. This is how the Colts employed him last year...but if you look at his career with the Colts(the sample sizes in the other years are much smaller obviously)...how he was used was varied:
@TalkinGiants
Giants Paris Campbell alignment by the year
2022:
Slot: 77%
Outside: 23%
2021:
Slot: 9%
Outside: 91%
2020:
Slot: 95%
Outside: 5%
2019:
Slot: 48%
Outside: 52%
In 2021, his ADOT was 16.7. 2020 it was 11.9.
I'm assuming they must have had some pass pro issues in 2022(similar to the Giants in the past where Jones out of necessity had to get the ball out sooner, which forced the offense to shorten up their routes.) Michael Pittmans ADOT last year was only 6.9.(I did look and they gave up a whopping 60 sacks as a team).
