I still was hoping to acquire a WR or TE without a resume full of injuries. I really want to get past that….it seems guys with resumes are less likely to stay healthy all season. I hope I’m wrong on this.

guys like Campbell and Smith are what is available since the Giants smartly don't want to overpay. Two WRs and a TE with speed. My guess is we add two WR in the draft and perhaps another after final cuts. Resigning Slayton and/or James is also possible, although that seems less likely now.
wouldnt go that far. hodgins was the highest rated in every advanced metric by a good margin and the ability to catch the football is something he's shown going back to college. a half season isn't such a small sample size.
I'm excited about the possibility of Parris Campbell
you can see they used him behind the los even more than indy last year. he caught 82% of his targets for 91 receptions, 1k yards, 12 tds. and on 80 of his catches he was targeted 4 yards or less downfield.
campbell may be more of an upside replacement for richie james than slayton. though ideally he does a combo of both.
A risk potential reward signing. If its a one year deal I like it. He has played 7. 2. 6 and then 17 games.
Could be a lot of upside here. Giants also got to see him on the field this year in addition to preparing for him so they should have a good idea on him imv.
Yes I’m getting concerned that the collection of “weapons” we have can coexist. Are there enough touches to go around? I’d look at what the greatest show on turf rams did but concerned our collection of weapons dwarfs those guys.
Sarcasm off.
and have a similar impact to Ross. But you have to assume that the Giants will also have a high draft pick and potentially another of these signings in play as well. It's a 1yr.

Wide Receiver: Parris Campbell

Before the potential wave of releases, this looks to be a very weak free-agent wide receiver class at the top. But for teams in need of a dependable WR3, and perhaps even a WR2 if he can stay healthy, Campbell is an option. He has dropped just six of the 103 catchable passes thrown his way since entering the NFL.

wouldn't count on Wan' Dale this year. He tore his ACL pretty late in the season and his whole game is predicated on lateral quickness and shiftiness. That takes time to come back.
as the fastest ball carrier in 2002, at 22.11 MPH. Incredibly, it was on a 26 yard touchdown run. You usually see those higher MPHs on longer plays where the player has time to build up to top speed. Nextgen: Fastest Ball Carriers - ( New Window )
hodgins performed the best last year, the only caveat is he played 11 actives because buf had him inactive for most of the year.
campbell is an upside depth signing coming off his own personal best year but in a game tomorrow he'd be the 3rd option behind the other 2.
based on numbers they are clearly going to continue adding more receivers through the rest of the offseason and almost definitely draft someone day 1 or 2.
Guys without warts don't hit free agency.

It's like a clearance rack.
Is Slayton the train with square wheels, or the boat that can't float?
The gun that squirts jelly...
100k per game roster bonus so up to an additional 1.7M just for lacing up. Giants protect themselves against injury.
If things don't work out there are 0 long term ramifications.
Good "value" buy by Schoen.

Open mind... :)

MCL and PCL, not ACL, and no surgery needed.

Parris Campbell's Giants contract is a one-year contract worth up to $6.7 million, per source.
Terms:
$3 million base ($1.5M signing bonus, $1.4 million G'd salary, $100K workout)
Up to $1.7M in per game roster bonuses ($100K a game)
Wouldn't be surprised to see the Giants hit this shelf again for more of an outside WR.
In regards to their pass catchers, they swapped out:
Slayton & James —> Waller & Campbell
This is a start. Now we need these guys and Robinson to stay healthy.
And I’m sure WR remains high on their priorities heading into the draft.
Still opens up another FA vet possibility
at WR.
I definitely see them drafting at least one high.
Ross not only had injuries concerns but drops too. Campbell hasn't had drop issues.

Yac and drop rate have been issues for Giants WRs for some time now.

I would go that far.
May even catch the pass on them too
John Ross best catching year he had 28 catches with 8 drops... His second best was 21 catches with 7 drops...
Not the same player at all.
The best part wasn't his wheels and cuts, it was that he snatches the ball with his hands. Not a body catcher.

in Campbell's best interest to sign a one year "prove it" deal that includes incentives.
For that reason, and you are probably talking about a $3 million contract, I remain interested.
Hey Yankee...what are the lottery numbers for tomorrow?
Way better hands than Ross. And a better route runner. Not just a fast guy who runs fly and post patterns.
Personally, I'd have preferred Paris Hilton, but that's just me ;-)
Kind of makes me think of Mike Sherrard. Hope he continues to have better luck going forward.
Guessing the contract probably has incentives for each game he plays, so if he's healthy, he makes more.
Eric that’s the problem.

Yup. Shepard and Robinson have ACLs. Hodgins is a nice player. This guy would start immediately today.
What happened to Hodgins?
Yes.
