They are getting creative with the cap to try to win during this window they are in. It helps when players like Fletcher Cox sign deals for 2/3 what they are worth. I mean Slay is 32, Bradberry is like 29-30, Cox is almost done, Kelce is probably retiring this year. It will catch up to them soon. That’s when the Giants will move ahead of them because Schoen is being cost conscious.
cap hell my ass
everyone comes back to play for them cheap WTF
They haven't paid Jalen Hurts yet. It is a real shitty move to make the QB that they were declaring "the real MVP" play through the final year of his rookie contract. Not only that but its a 2nd round pick contract now a sizeable 5th year option.

They know they have a short window. They don’t care about Hurts. Their asshole coach was literally pandering to the cameras during our playoff game against them because he’s more important than the players. Signing Hurts to a long term deal is worthless because half their team will be retiring or cut after the 2023-24 season.

If I was advising Hurts, I would tell him not to play without a new deal. I can imagine he will play this year without it either.
They are cooked. They will be competitive this year before the wheels fall off. They are an old team that just came off a painful loss in the Super Bowl and now trying to hang on for 1 more year. Except they are not as good as last year and won’t be. The dead cap is catching up and their window is closing. Their top 4 players are in their mid 30s and will be on the books for 3-5 years more.
They can keep putting bandaids on but Father Time is catching up and they will be just a good team this season and next year the wheels will be off. The Eagles have a culture that will fall apart when things don’t go well. Just look at the head coach. I bet he is out of a job either next season or the one after.
I was looking forward to them losing Cox, Graham, Bradberry, Slay, etc and having to retool cheaply. They are well run and should be the NFC favorite to get to the SB.
Strange. They have Maddox too. And no starting caliber safeties. Only Dean at LB.
You would be lucky to get out of there with your underpants still on.

One can only hope they will sign Aaron Rouse and CC Brown.
My thoughts exactly.. The Eagles could have a dollar left and still sign several Elite players.

Wait till they trade for someone we want for a 5th rounder...

The 4 below account for 44m of dead money
F. Cox has 15m
Hargrove has 12m
Brooks has 10m
Semualo. 7m
They will look different next year - likely no Cox, Graham, Barnett, Bradbury, Kelce and possibly Johnson
Younger brother at that! If I remember correctly. Despite the fact Greedy was drafted earlier.
