spent the WR's to bring in a stud CB like Byron Murphy (instead he signed with the Vikings), Slay, Bradbury or a LB.
The draft is deep in WR's.
We have a run and shoot offense of smaller, quicker receivers all running in different directions it seems.
Yeah, it seems like they're throwing feces up there to see what sticks... both Joe and 'Blue Horseshoe'... But it's still early. Lots of offseason yet to go.

Disagree to an extent. Both those corners are getting older. Giants like what they have in Flott and have the draft to get another young corner.
wondering about the slot receiver thing, keep in mind that Schoen is on record as saying any receiver they really want has to be able to play all of the positions.
They want to create match-up problems and keep defenses guessing.

Schoen has mentioned a few times that they care more about versatility inside & outside along with separation compared to height.

It seems like they are really emphasizing speed with now with Campbell, Waller and Slayton - and McKenzie would add another dimension to that
those on this post are speculating about a receiver from Buffalo, let me give you some real information about another Buffalo receiver and the Giants:
Today the Giants coaches are at the University of Buffalo to check out WR Justin Marshall. He is expected to weigh in about 210 pounds and be 6'2" and we hear more about his other skills and tests.
Marshall was previously at Louisville, but transferred for his final college year at Univ of Buffalo.
He can return punts and kicks and play the slot. Valuable player in that regard. The Dolphins signed him. Good deal for them. We need another veteran receiver and one in the Top 2 rounds of the draft in about 6 weeks (can't believe it's that close!). The WR situation likely won't be fixed until next off-season.
My guess Wan'dale and Shepard start the season on the PUP.
And injuries happen in camp. Guaranteed by the start of the season at least one other WR won't be healthy. And Collins is just coming back let's see what he has or is he another potential PUP?
3 days into the new league year and BBI hates every move made, any moves rumored to be made and any moves that haven’t been made.
Good times!
Oh, puh-leeze. That's simply not true. Besides the fact that "BBI" isn't one single entity, most of the moves that have been made thus far have been well-received by the majority of posters.
Have there been a few naysayers? Absolutely. There always are, just as there are those who will instantly applaud anything and everything. Have there been differences of opinion. Yup, but differences of opinion aren't "hate," except to the infantile. Discussion is why we're here, and discussion will breed differences of opinion. This would be a pretty boring place if everyone marched in lockstep.
is very unlikely to make it back in a consistent capacity until late in the season, and the likelihood the group of WRs stays fully healthy is highly unlikely.
McKenzie if signed would assuredly mean Richie James isn't coming back at all as suspected even with Campbell addition.
I'm not sure I see the fit, and there could be a few teams that would offer McKenzie bit more of an immediate shot than just a chance to be "separating from the bunch" we have.
RE: This acquisition would mean that Wan’dale’s rehab is not going well
He tore his ACL around Thanksgiving - even if his rehab is going well, he wouldn't be ready for game action until September/October. I don't think signing McKenzie would mean anything wrt Wan'dale's recovery.

Not only that and i dont think Wandale is jumping back in at 70% of snaps. No matter if its october, november december, etc

Shep probably not on pup , surgery was in October. But could be
Wandale. Agree. I look at him as an after the bye week type guy. November to ramp up for playoff push
RE: like him or not - he was totally clued in with the
Before or after he said the giants were tagging him?
Hey you! Up in the peanut gallery. u need to get a grip. They came to an agreement with 6 minutes to go. I'm not defending him, but he had the amount, and he pulled that statement almost as quickly as he posted it when the tide changed.
Sterling Shepard tore his Achilles in December and was back 8 months after surgery.
I know the Giants are cautious to a fault but.
Even though ACL recoveries have gotten better. I still think 1-year is safe.
And even then...we STILL see recovery years. Look at saquon. Wan'dales whole game is stopping on a dime, cutting, etc putting alot of stress on his knees. I don't see him coming back in and playing the majority of snaps early on...and maybe even late into the year.
For those saying he isn't this or that and that guys we have now are better- keep in mind he was on the Bills active roster when Hodgins wasn't able to. He played with Diggs, Davis, Beasley and he has actual pelts on the wall.
Regardless our WR unit should be far superior to last year's group.
He’s redundant with WDR - who may miss a couple games, but could also be ready by week 1. They are going to get their 2nd round pick in the lineup - so I don’t see McKenzie stealing snaps from him.
Campbell, because he can play the slot, is a guy who can be an insurance policy for WDR. Not saying that’s his only role, I suspect he’ll be a big contributor even when WDR returns. But it could be his primary role if WDR requires a bit of time to ramp up.
My point is, giants perspective: they don’t need a 5’6 slot receiver. They do need a punt returner. So it would make sense to pay him as a returner, which would be vet min or close.
McKenzie perspective: you probably want to sign somewhere with more targets in the slot up for grabs. Giants right now don’t have a clear path to a sustainable role for him.

I'll say this again: Giants hope they have Collin Johnson, Sterling Shepard and Wan'Dale Robinson ready to go and in the thick of the depth chart this season.
But all three are coming back from serious injuries - Robinson had ACL surgery in December - so depth is deceiving.

I didn't see anyone more on top of this than him
Get a grip?
Did he have the amount? What I remembered was he just said it would have a 4 in front. Which was in line with what all the reporters were saying Jones wanted.

Likely a Day Three pick.
I dunno, Y28. If we're drafting receivers off a couple of good games against Holy Cross and Georgia Southern, it might mean we have too many seventh round picks. Priority UDFA, maybe? Thanks for the tidbit, though. Always appreciate your info about the staff's travel plans.
ACL surgery was in December. It will be a minor miracle if he is ready by September.
they should 100% start him on PUP. there is very little downside to extra rest and having an 'extra' roster player.
shepard may get back in time since i think he'll be closer to the typical 11 months post-surgery, but for his sake he may as well take the extra time and really get himself into the best form possible before coming back without counting against the active roster and forcing a keep/cut decision.
If the Oline & CB positions are still a mess this season, what good will all these signing be??
They may very well be lining up OL and CB as we speak or coming up with a draft strategy for those positions. Just because they're doing one thing doesn't mean they're not working on the other.
Center. They have all the other pieces there either already established OR needing development. You can't sign 5 ready made guys for big money. Building an OL is about cohesion and experience.
CB is murkier. What do they think of Flott? Where is A. Robinson in his rehab?
Both will be addressed I think, in the draft.

So far, no C has been tempting for Schoen So far. Not much better than we have. I agree, probably the draft

The degree to which some people leap to this guys defense is one of the stranger things about Giants fans. He’s a super fan who sucks up to players and sometimes hears info. Very cool.
He’s also someone who the Giants once had to issue a press release about disavowing any connection to after he got arrested. Yet to some, how dare anyone question Saint LPG

JSN or addison in round 1 prob fit that bill.

Disagree IMO they want to continue to add speed and have multiple options on the field, also deeper in health per position too.
