And all news in Cager's own words (attached).
Seems really thrilled to work with his new TE.
And he seems a little annoyed with how Eric lists his weight on BBI..............

I am not 220 pounds, I’m literally 241 lol
I might add:
Waller's number with the Raiders was #83. That's currently Cager's number. Guess we will see how that plays out.

Pretty impressive to put on 21 lbs and still be as lean as he is.
That said, what they list on Giants.com is not always what they hand out in their media packages. So I've had to pick one or the other in many cases.
Waller is definitely a better blocker than an Evan Engram, but he’s not Howard Cross by any means.
Agreed. Bellinger is ok as a blocker, maybe improves a bit as he has an offseason to build up a bit
Waller not here for blocking.
3rd TE should be a block first guy, especially since our oline isn’t stellar
I like Cager as a backup to Waller’s prototype specifically. Waller has missed games. Obviously you wouldn’t feature Cager like you would Waller, but he can at least do some of the things that Waller does as a receiving TE.

I like Cager as 3 TE option as well.
There’s probably room for four TEs, especially if they only carry two QBs and Wan’Dale Robinson starts the year on PUP. Besides August injuries tend to solve roster management problems (and create new ones).
The problem for Cager, in terms of roster math, is that as long as Waller is healthy, Cager may have difficulty earning a shirt on game day. When the Giants go heavy, the third TE will likely be either Bellinger's backup or an extra lineman. That potentially leaves Cager inactive. And if he's not going to dress, he might not be able to hold down a roster spot.
I think they saw Andre Miller in that role before he got hurt. Then they signed Tanner Hudson, and when Lawrence Cager became available, he replaced Hudson.
+1
I do not weigh 291 pounds! I weigh 219 pounds!
