NGT: OTC.good overview of Rodgers contract

BeggarsBanquet : 3/18/2023 6:50 pm
It sure seems like the Packers risk overplaying their hand. Dead money hits in 23, 24 and 25 could kill this team for years. If they want a clean start with Love, and refrain from poisoning the roster, they must deal Rodgers.

They will be screwed if they don't deal him.

Not really. There's a real chance they'll have no trade partners in September. And then they are just fucked.
It’s def odd

I am surprised the packers are asking for any real draft return. I assumed they would be happy to unload the contract. Jets ought not give them picks unless GB wants to eat some money.

Exactly. They're playing with fire.
The Jets have overplayed their hand, in my opinion.

They have left themselves with no real options beyond Rodgers. They've already made coaching and roster decisions based on Rodgers' assumed presence. Their fan base and even their own players have started talking shit about how the Jets are going to be loaded.

I don't think ownership's egos could handle this falling through and them trotting out a never-was behind center in 2023.

I disagree. I don't think Woody wants to look like he gets taken. They can pivot to Lamar. And if that doesn't work out they can draft Hooker and find some caddy. The Packers MUST trade Rodgers.

But didn’t Rodgers say he would retire otherwise? I mean can’t pack jus hold off for better comp and if Rodgers walks away they are off hook too? I mean they prob have to pay part of Rodgers contract in a trade soooo

Get picks and pay 20+ mill or just let him retire ….

What am I missing?
