#Texans and #Cowboys have discussed fifth-round and sixth-round pick compensation for Brandin Cooks, per league sources. #Texans are expected to pay $6 million of his $18 million guaranteed contract to facilitate the trade, per sources.
a very good trade. We would have been a great fit for the Giants.
After signing Campbell, and the likely selection of a receiver in the 1st or 2nd round, there would be no reason to make this move for an aging, career journeyman.
Dallas has acquired Gilmore and Cooks for two 5th round picks this year and a 6th next year. Dallas also got Houston to take 6 million of his 18.5 million dollar.
Cowboys: Lamb and Cook
Redskins: McLaurin and Dotson
Eagles: Brown and Smith
Giants: I guess Hodgins and Paris.
Lol… this made me laugh
Might want to add the RBs and TEs and see how these offenses all compare. Giants aren’t exactly devoid of talent…
The comparison was at the WR position. When compared to the division NY is sorely lacking.
Only a WR comparison, I think most Giants fans were hoping for big upgrades at WR(yes Waller is going to help big time) but resigning Shep and Slayton and adding Paris, we have a ton of WR3 and WR4. We can still go first round and pick a WR but my gut today says we won’t. Fully trust Schoen and Dabes, but we are lacking on WR1/WR2
At this point. The cost of picks isn't nothing. Don't think this some needle mover and all. Solid but this hardly makes DCs scared IMO
It's a piece to the offense that was missing, a deep threat. Dallas can use Cooks in schemes to clear space for other players to work in.
If Cooks gives them 60 to 70 catches for 800 to 900 yards and 6 to 7 TDs it will be worth the 5th round comp pick and 6th round pick next year that Dallas gave up.
It doesn't move the needle for you but defensive coordinators will be dealing with a more well rounded offense with more options.
Pollard, Lamb, Cooks, Gallup, and Ferguson are a good set of options.
Cowboys: Lamb and Cook
Redskins: McLaurin and Dotson
Eagles: Brown and Smith
Giants: I guess Hodgins and Paris.
That pretty much sums up the Giants right now. Remember, that just the WR position too. If anyone is wondering when will the Giants beat the Eagles or Cowboys, that should answer pretty much your question.
Cowboys: Lamb and Cook
Redskins: McLaurin and Dotson
Eagles: Brown and Smith

Cooks is not much at this point
He isn't Hopkins or OBJ but he is consistent. If he gets 60/800/6 Dallas will take it. For 5th and a 6th that's a bargain.
For 12 million that production is not worth it at all. Shit Slayton gave us almost that. Shit. I'd see if they could get Thiielen for they price
Without giving up picks.

#Cowboys sniffed around the DeAndre Hopkins and Odell Beckham Jr. market but settle on Brandin Cooks.
Redskins: McLaurin and Dotson
Eagles: Brown and Smith
Giants: I guess Hodgins and Paris.
Not a bad WR group for Dak
Cowboys will be his 5th team in 10 seasons - that seems like a lot for a guy who isn't be waived.
I wonder if being traded 4 times is an NFL record.
Wasn't he traded to keep Zeke? Bold strategy Cotton...

Cooks is going to help Lamb also because he is a very capable receiver who is capable of getting deep
Cooper has missed 5 games in his career
That is a good tandem
Redskins: McLaurin and Dotson
Eagles: Brown and Smith

Shouldn't have ever had it that high. Arrogance and lack of self awareness. Pass. As are most teams obviously are

What teams have gotten in trading him.
New Orleans traded cooks + 4th rd to New England for a 1st and 3rd round pick.
New England traded cooks + 4th rd to Rams for a 1st and 6th round pick.
Rams traded cooks + 4th rd to Houston for a 2nd round pick
Houston traded cooks to Dallas for a 5th and 6th round pick
2 first round picks
1 2nd round
1 3rd round
1 5th round
2 6th round picks
The other players he ties for most traded....
Eric dickerson. He was traded to green Bay for his 4th time traded, but failed a physical and never played for them. Trade still counted.

Prescott loved throwing to Schultz, he was usually the second option, sometimes the first. I think Ferguson will take over this role and excel in it.
Gallup in another season removed from the ACL injury and will get more targets.
In the scheme of the offense Cooks could sometimes be no better than the 3rd to 5th option. That's why I posted average numbers for him.
The only player that will post numbers is Lamb. All the rest will be average. But that isn't a knock on the other players. There's just one ball.

That should be our 3 and 4. We still need a #1 and a #2 receiver.
