The issue I see with this OC class is the lack of lateral speed. Tippman and Wypler can get you a solid first step, but not sure they can play with the range Feliciano showed
Outside zone concepts will make it tough with any of the starting caliber OCs from this group
Might his comments nudge them toward accepting C might not BPA in the first, and be better addressed on day 2 or 3?
If I had to wager on what’s most likely to happen, Sy’s comments would make me more confident on Feliciano returning and a day 3 developmental center or guard to cross train.
But the guy I really respect is Oluwatimi out of Michigan.
When we played the Wolverines,he was the best lineman on the field...IMHO

A biased UM fan here, but OO WAS the Remington award winner this year.
I’ll leave it to Sy’56 and the way better evaluators than me to analyze him. In a way I wish we still had the 2nd 3 because I don’t think he makes it to our 4th round slot.
Interesting … I’m not disagreeing but it seems some here are tired of trying to develop centers and want to just draft a guy who has played the position. But apparently there are very few that are big enough to do what Schoen and Daboll want from them. How many draftable college OTs have experience at C?

So obviously I would love to get Tipmann in the 3rd round.

OO should be there in the 4th
Have to think they see him at LG for the long term. His mobility makes him perfect for that spot. Making at least one position worse by moving him, maybe two.
Any enlightenment would be appreciated.
drafting a guy to groom behind feliciano makes a ton of sense, as would cross training bredeson in case the best option at lg is ezeudu. going into the draft without a starting center under contract after letting 2 quality candidates walk for reason $ would be dumb enough that it seems unlikely.
Any enlightenment would be appreciated.
Sy is pretty damn good in his analysis
But it’s not fool proof and giants scouts may see it differently
Not against BB, SL and rookie ducking it out for OC/ OG
Feliciano was pretty decent at some points and just meh on others.
He has his good and bad. If we want to beat Philly and SF dline, we still have to improve
Would not be against Torrance in first if grade warrants it. Him and Neal should blow open holes in run game. ( I expect some improvement by Neal. Don’t know if it will be enough. But think he will put in the work)

Not really. If he is a good center, then he is a good center and it solves one position. Then need LG, C and RG - even if they are stuck with Glowinski another year. Remember, Feliciano moved pretty well pulling too.

Lemieux is another option. He's taken snaps at center during practices for both the the Shurmer and Daboll coaching staffs.
Hes been nothing but bad his entire tenure, I would not count on him

His entire tenure? He had a pretty good rookie year, showed promise until the injury.

+1
"Stromberg generates decent movement at the point of attack and is well-schooled with landmarks as a zone blocker."
Maybe he can be had in the fourth round and can start right away
Big fan of Mauch, he can play all 5 positions on the OL. Baldinger loves him.
Stop with the experiments and retreads at Center, at least Starting Center.
Invest in a relatively average experienced starter in Free Agency if there any (not sure) and make a draft investment here in 2023, and maybe again in 2024 if the evals this year are just lukewarm on Centers.
But it needs new investment.

And move him to one of the 3 interior OL spots

While nobody will outcompete him, I think the physical limitations might be too much at OT. That being said, on the inside I really like his potential. He is one of my fallbacks if Gonzalez, Witherspoon, Porter, Addison, JSN, and Hyatt are off the board.

And I'd take that in a heartbeat.

Not sure Lemieux could even reach the ball with his T-Rex arms.
