Pro Football Network releases full 7 round mock draft

Y28 : 3/19/2023 5:29 pm
These are great to look at if you understand them.

With the first 2 rounds, expect team needs to pretty well match with their predictions.

But beyond that, its more important to look at the collective group of players predicted in each draft round, rather than "which players is my team taking and at what position".

Still many important Pro Days to come, but you can begin to formulate the usually pretty accurate predictions coming from the various popular websites as to which round a group of players are likely to get picked.

Expect more of these from other popular sites in the days and weeks ahead.

Always interesting to read if you follow that "group of players likely to be drafted in which round" thought process rather than "these idiots don't have the Giants taking a WR until Round 6".

Enjoy

Thibs didn't play very well, but Noah Sewell looked like the best player on the Oregon D, imo
Terrible

draft. No way we take Tippman at #25, and although I don't think it's a given that we take a WR, we won't wait until the sixth round to do so.
Keep in mind for all mock drafts ...

If the guys doing these were any good, they’d be working for pro teams instead of being ‘wannabes’. And this includes the head mocker himself at ESPN.
Deonte Banks

is the slam dunk choice… Tippmann isn’t good enough for #26…. Banks will be a beast

Be pretty mad we passed up joey porter jr here.
I'd be surprised if O’Cyrus Torrence lasts to 47

I would be happy with him at 25.
If Joey Porter is there at 25

The Giants sprint to Goodell with the card.

yeah if Porter or Banks were there I'd think they'd be the pick.

Agreed the short list to me there is:

1. Flowers- Folks don't realize just how much he wowed at the combine. Size was the biggest concern with him and he came in 13 lbs heaviers without any loss of explosion, agility or change of direction. Not a tall target obviously but well built, extremely special movement skill/route running and catches most eveything.

2. Deonte Banks- totally in agreement that this could be the pick here. He has Wink prototype boundary CB written all over him.

3. Skoronski- I love this kid because he projects extremely favorably both in the IOL as well as RT. I want a viable backup plan to Neal in case he continues to struggle at RT.

If he does he moves inside and Skoronski can play RT otherwose Skoronski is our OG with Bredeson/Ezeudu or Feliciano as our OC. (In this mock I know hes gone but I still wanted to list him because I think the short arms might drop him down to right around our pick area).

Totally missed Porter being there too

I'd have to add him right there with Banks. That would be a real tough guy to pass up also.
How are these compiled?

I never get Porter coming into range for the Giants when I do mock drafts and Banks is way in the fifties (which puts us in range to get him with the 2nd-round pick), while Tippmann is in the third round or so.

Agreed. If I am drafting tippmen, it’s at #40 ish after a trade down to pick up and 2, 3 and 5
Porter is going to fall and he should

He’s going to have poor testing numbers. He is not a player I’d want. I think he is going to get exposed in the pro game
Flowers has too many drops
uconngiant : 3/19/2023 7:37 pm : link
I prefer Banks here as I think Tippman is not the best center
On an easy schedule last year,
prdave73 : 3/19/2023 8:23 pm : link
running on pure inspiration from HC Daboll, the Giants put themselves in a bad spot in the draft. A team that lacks talent and needs talent so bad, is in a situation were they miss out on top picks this team so greatly needed. They really need to plan this draft out well, and hope they get solid picks. Gambling is not an option this year on the draft.
According to this...
jnoble : 3/19/2023 8:36 pm : link
...the Giants don't grab a wide receiver until the 6th round? Riiiiiight
Well, that’s five minutes of my life I can never get back.

If you want to laugh, compare where they drafted these guys in their own mock draft with where they rank them on their mock draft simulator. Zach Harrison for example. Joe Trippman isn’t the top center on their own rankings.

Again, how do they construct something like this if their own draft simulator is structured differently?

The tape is pretty incredible with him and personally I think he projects as a high ceiling M2M CB. I dont know if theyd like him more than Banks but I could see them having a very high grade on him.
