FA and Covid Cap hangover

George from PA : 3/20/2023 9:07 am
Am I the only ones who feel the $$$$ being spent in FA are relativilly lower than expected?

I wonder...we know that due to covid and a year without fans in the stands....the cap was corrected lower.....

As many teams plan ahead and pay the cap forward.....I feel many are still managing that correction.

I am not seeing the crazy out-of-control spending that usually happens during this time....as FA goes....this go around feels quite tame.

Do you guys agree?

Thoughts?

A lot of one year deals

who were the big name players?

Edmunds got the biggest contract ever for a ILB.

OTs got paid BIG TIME..

Who else was there? None of the WRs are top tier FA, neither were any of the available cornerbacks.

There were no break the bank Edge rushers either..

There really wasn’t a lot of premier free agents

Plus, there was very few teams with a lot of cap space.. I also think the lack of a lot of team having a quality qb kind of curbed their spending a little. Seemed like a lot of teams preferred their own guys.

I didn’t think the Giants would re-sign so many guys from last season and it seemed liked we paid a bit of a premium on some

Most of the great ones never hit the market.

It's not really anything more than that.
