“ #Giants are signing former @DukeFOOTBALL cornerback Leonard Johnson to a three-year contract, per a league source @KPRC2 Healthy again, Johnson impressed the Giants during a workout today and now is being signed by Joe Schoen and coached by Brian Daboll, Wink Martindale”
No. He was recovering from an ACL last year.

...a CB that ran a 4.5 40 before blowing out his knee.
UDFA, fine... but thinking he might actually fill a slot this year?!? Please.
Future practice squader at best, IMO.
His 40 time at his pro day was actually 4.54
Very slow for a CB who is not particularly big
I
maybe he just ran a 4.45 for giants at tryout?
Please help me! Tell me that the Giants' current CB situation with Johnson is totally different from what our 2018 CB situation was when we drafted Beal.

Could actually be something like that. Or his quickness out of breaks impressed them. As somebody noted above, LJ's 3 cone time was quite good
Supposedly, he was very aggressive in run support in college. He is also 6'1."
The top players come back closer to average and the average players come back below average. I am not enthusiastic about the prospects for Leonard Johnson.
The 6-foot, 194-pound corner tore his ACL while training for the 2022 NFL Draft. He went undrafted and then unsigned as he recovered from the knee injury.
Johnson missed only one game during his time at Duke, playing 47 career contests with 39 starts. He finished his collegiate career with 165 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, six interceptions, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 17 pass breakups and two quarterback hurries.
Prior to his injury, Johnson participated at Duke's pro day where he ran a 4.54 40-yard dash and registered a vertical jump of 33.0 and broad jump of 10.5.

Depends on the PR and how they follow it. The new ACL is a tendon and will be stronger. If they sat around eating Cheetos all day for sure they will suck. If you can get surgery almost immediately then the other muscles do not atrophy much

What I have read suggests that after ACL surgery NFL players do not come back totally healthy and as good as new.

This guy also had a meniscus tear. Sad that it happened, but honestly I don't understand the point of this signing. He was slow before he had a severe knee injury.
Not guaranteed. All undrafted deals are 3 years for minimum each year. Only variable is signing bonus, which I’m sure is tiny.
