He's 330 lbs. Sounds like a nose tackle to me, which we already have in Lawrence. Makes no sense to me.
Who's Dex's backup? The new guy?
Dex has two right now: Davidson and Nacho. Considering what's known about Robinson he doesn't fit the bill as Williams' backup or a 5-tech starter, more like a run-downs only guy (who would be a starter in the 80s).

A few reasons
- he can play 5T (and did with Rams)
- Dex and Leo played 75- 85% of snaps in some games because of lack of depth behind them. That’s a recipe to wear them down. Any DL is more effective when they are able to rotate.
- Giants backups at IDL were the worst in the league. They’ve only added 1 guy to the mix. Need multiple. Will keep starters fresh without too big of a drop off. Giants got gashed every time the backups subbed in on the IDL.
- Giants play a lot of dime/nickel. Need space eaters and guys who are stout vs the run to offset having more DB’s on the field. Robinson is one of the better run stoppers in this years FA class.
Then maybe we will play hardball with Williams. He will, guarantee it. He only looks out for himself, not the team, that is Schoeb's job. Create a little leverage if he is signed, but they need to see he is healthy, and then offer him a contract. He may say no.
My guess- he agreed for the visit to be exactly today because most parameters of a deal were already in place.
I think he is out having dinner tonight with Giants management and his agent to celebrate his signing and birthday, and that we will hear about it all later tonight.
and the fo wont make their decisions until they get information back from drs. i dont think players have any obligation to do a medical check but if you're a team why sign a player off surgery without a medical review?
RE: i would guess players off knee surgeries go to hss as part of visit

Agreed. Similar to past visits that were reported on a certain day but the visit started in the afternoon, player goes straight to HSS and has dinner with team officials then is at the facility tomorrow. We’ll probably get word one way or another tomorrow at some point.
unless a signing is imminent or close to it. Most, if not all of the parameters are probably agreed to. The physical seems appropriate and was probably agreed to beforehand. I think the contract is announced tomorrow.
In our case it would be 6 deep vs 8
If we sign Robinson we are closer.
Also if a guy like davidson develops
Idk what guys like him a mckethen on oline upside really is
Both scouting reports had holes but that’s what good coaching and player development is about. Fact is, that what separates to good teams from the bad.
Sorta how we really didn’t do much player development on oline for a decade. Heck. U could almost say close to zero ( except AT)
Exactly hahaha

We wanted to show him the new McRib sandwich in the cafeteria
Exactly hahaha
The McRib is back? It’s like it never went away!

U expect dexter to play 90% of snaps again?

I don't, but there's at least two backups right now for Lawrence while there's none for Williams.

Again-purely my guess
But I will stay with that guess !!!

He had dinner last night in ny with a couple of retired former teammates so I would assume the visit is on
It's maybe the most important spot on the field to have great depth, so yeah, I would understand why we would like to sign him.
