My understanding on A’Shawn Robinson and the Giants are that the two sides are working through some things. The door remains open for something to get done.
Given that part of the reason to bring Robinson in was to assess his health in light of prior injuries, my guess is that the medicals were not as good as Robinson and his agent were hoping for and the Giants. This would likely result in a gap in contract value between the parties or nix any prior understandings.
Their deal is set....the Giants need to clear space

Absolutely could be a reason, perhaps the main one
"Working through some things" sounds more like both parties are still interested, but the Giants first have to free up some cap space in order to sign him.
this is interesting if robinson leaves town without coming to terms
seemed 50/50 whether or not calais was going to retire or continue playing, looks like it's the latter.

The #Falcons are planning to host veteran DL Calais Campbell on a free-agent visit this week, sources say. Campbell was recently released by the #Ravens, who kept the door open for his return. But in the meantime, the 15-year veteran will meet with Atlanta.
“ Those asking about A'Shawn Robinson and the #Giants: I've been told the visit went well and a signing is still possible, even though nothing went down immediately. Stay tuned. Don't kill those highlight packages just yet, @TalkinGiants.”

I think Brandon Brown is really enjoying negotiating with A'Shawn's agent and doesn't care if it takes all day or all week !!

He’s more relief for Leo than Dex. Nacho is relief for Dex though the positions are somewhat fluid.
Oh snap, come on down LW, DL, AJ and SB
Are NOT truly unreasonable..
Murderer!
Yeah, I feel the same way. Hope we're wrong.
Remember, this is Ranaan we’re talking about and these are HIS words
Has the visit ended? Did I miss that?
