Draft your own, develop, cheap rookie contracts, swing for upside and fit. Your best shot at finding top players and hopefully minimize the warts typical of UFA options.
stories like this make me wonder what our FO is up to
and hopefully the rest of the league too. I just read the BBV article that states the NYG are screaming from the top of their facility that they will take an IOL in the draft, which is my opinion. HOWEVER, I like our talent less at CB (with the lone exception being Jackson) than I do our IOL talent. IF we still had Moreau, I'd think IOL is a definite. And I still think they need a top talent at WR. So hopefully they keep the league guessing and make a great choice at 25, no matter who they pick.
Has some character concerns I’m sure the Giants want to vet. He’s been late to meetings enough that coaches had to discipline him about it. By accounts, he doesn’t have pro work habits. Also an injury risk with lower body injuries and concussions. All in all

Smart? Eh.
Tough? Sure.
Dependable? No.
Yeah I won’t be happy with Cam Smith in 1sr rd. I like Darius Rush better at 2/3 rd pick.

Taking an IOL in draft is likely. Doesn’t mean in 1st round necessarily. Also, good chance an IOL may not be on board value and fit first couple rounds.

Fans need to stop putting so much stock in a little catchphrase.

I wasn't aware of that so thanks for posting. Physically, he's a corner that brings a lot to the table.

agree 100%. this is a loaded draft at CB/edge, and WR has turned into too premium of a position to ignore. it's not a loaded WR class but it is quality. There are at least 4 or 5 prospects who are clearly better prospects than wandale was last year (and therefore deserve consideration at 25).
i like the waller gamble but it's just that - you can't go more than year to year with players 30+. they need a high end long term player at WR from day 1/2. you also need to hedge at cb/edge with jackson/ojulari not being the most durable. those would be my day 1/2 targets unless there's a value too good to pass up.

Good stuff. I've heard similar concerns. But the talent is pretty clearly first round level.
Even in a draft class lacking high-end talent, he would be a very uninspired first round pick for me. I just don't see high end athleticism, ball skills, instincts or other elite traits. There are also rumblings about character concerns.
Would not surprise me at all if he's the pick for us, but I still have a feeling that Zay Flowers is the one we really covet. Would far prefer the latter scenario.
He wants a DB hungry team ahead of them to jump at it or trade up, so another player falls to 25.
I think that our top 30 visits last year so closely matched the players we ultimately drafted show Schoen & co. invest their time in players of real interest to them. Certainly possible he's throwing in some red herrings this year but it doesn't seem like his M.O. thus far.

The WR position is deep this year whereas the depth at other positions leaves something to be desired.

Arcade... It's quite possible that the Giants don't draft a WR at 25 --- I could easily see them going cornerback, offensive or defensive lineman --
