Top corners in this draft .....

After Gonzalez, Witherspoon, and Porter I think there is a clear delineation where the talent at our pick and what would be available on Day 2 is likely to be identical. That is why I would not want to see us take one out of desperation if one of those 3 are not there.

bandwagon since I caught the Illini early last season. He's a just a well-rounded, two-way corner. He'll need time, but the attitude and toolbox are ideal to me.

Gonzalez is right there, too. He is silky smooth to me and really looked the part at the Combine. Lots to like with physical attributes.

If the top 3 WRs are gone and Banks is sitting there, I think that he's the pick.

emmanuel forbes is an under the radar option not being talked about enough. he's light but he ran a 4.35 with 32.5 inch arms and a 1.49 split (each of those #s better than christian gonzalez). also had 6 ints and 3 tds. the big red flag is that he weighed in at 166 which is obviously an issue sort of like flott. except flott had 1 int in his lsu career forbes had 14 and 6 pick sixes which is an fbs record. jeremiah has him 38th overall and not in his latest mock.

here's a pretty good article overviewing all the options from a detroit site. if a a slight 5-10 pick trade down presents itself, adding an extra day 2 pick and getting 1 of the slightly lower tier corners (forbes, rush, turner, cam smith) wouldn't be the worst outcome. that would also be the potential range for one of the top 2 centers.

Agree that he’s probably the best after the top 3. Wouldn’t shock me if he is the choice.
