was on the reported wish list Aaron Rodgers provided to Joe Douglas, as reported by Diana Russini. A report Rodgers later attempted to discredit on his Pat McAfee show appearance:
“From what I’ve seen, I had a sheet of paper when I met with the Jets and said sign these people,” Rodgers said. “That’s not the reality.”
The other two players in the Russini report were Randall Cobb and Marcedes Lewis.
Cobb would be 33 in August, Lewis will soon turn 39. I think even Douglas would have his limits on how far he'll go to appease Rodgers.
Rodgers said it was a BS story. The Jets gave him a list of guys and asked if Rodgers liked them. Rodgers didn't mention any names to the Jets. Rodgers also won't talk to any writers so he says anything they say doesn't come from him. He's def helping to show that the media BS's more often than not.
Do you fully read posts before responding to them? Sincere question.
I love how everyone is always lying except for Rodgers, but the Jets ran right out and signed one guy purportedly on this "list" and here comes rumors about another.
Jets are not the only team that would have picked Wilson and Becton right around where they were selected. What is moronic is their development plan, or lack thereof for Wilson. Almost makes the Giants first three with DJ seem like a plan.
So far this year, he has not done anything that cannot be justified. I have to assume the Elijah Moore trade was a dump caused by burnt bridges with Saleh.
However, bringing in OBJ to a crowded WR room that screams Garrett Wilson as the once and future cost-controlled alpha makes no sense from any aspect. As a Jets fan, I have to hope this is just click bait speculation by a media which seems to have too much time on their hands.

It's a dumpster fire org with a rookie GM, HC and his butt buddy OC all at that the same time who never bothered to get a vet QB on the roster Wilson's first year.
and potentially signing OBJ "loading up" on stars on the wrong side of 30. The hyperbole is a little much sometimes.
Brady was 42 when he originally went to TB and he got them a Super Bowl. Rodgers is 39, and is only one year removed from back to back MVP campaigns. QB is one position where you can squeeze some life out of the tail end of the playing years. He also still had 26 TDs and 12 INTs, while completing 65% of his passes in a down year for him, with a subpar WR group (really until Watson broke out in week 8).
Again, OBJ would be going there as a complementary piece. He's WR3 on the depth chart, behind a budding star in Garrett Wilson, and Lazard.
Two old guys way past their prime on the same team would be hilarious. A 40 year old QB and a 30 year old WR who's coming off yet ANOTHER torn ACL and the Jets fumbling their way through a loaded AFC would be hilarious.
Load up on those old guys. It'll be great to see the Jets ruin the good work they were doing before signing these guys.

First off, Rodgers is not Brady. Brady is an all-time WINNER. Rodgers on the other hand is not. He has the skills, but he aint Brady. Secondly, Brady is the exception, not the norm. How often do guys win in their 40's? Especially going to a new team.
players, I'm comparing the age factors that was brought up. Of course Tom is the exception, but he changed teams at 42, and still was highly productive. Rodgers is 3 years younger, and looking at Rodgers last handful of years, there's not a ton in his stats that would tell you he's washed up. It was a down year last year (with an all new WR room and Lazard as the exception), and it still produced 26-12 TD/INT to go along with almost 3,700 yards, and 65% completion. There was known conflict with him and the org..Would it be all that surprising for him to come out with the Jets O and new motivation and he puts up an MVP caliber year? It wouldn't be that crazy to me. It was just 2 and 3 seasons ago where he put up 48-5 and 37-4 when he had a true alpha WR in Adams, and Wilson has the looks of a WR that can get to that.

Typical Jets.
It's like the Jets are allowing social media to build their team.
was on the reported wish list Aaron Rodgers provided to Joe Douglas, as reported by Diana Russini. A report Rodgers later attempted to discredit on his Pat McAfee show appearance:

Btw, if I had to put my money on who was full of shit between Russini and Rodgers vis a vis that story, it would be on Rodgers.
Easily.
You'd be broke pal because Russini admitting it lol
Would I? Her comments about the story were accurate. I used the term "wish list" the same as she did in her report, and she stood by that report. Rodgers tried to discredit it by misconstruing her report as "demands," which is not how she characterized it. He may have taken issue with how some others may have discussed the report, but he didn't deny the actual report, which was a "wish list".

And this is incorrect. Rodgers: “Now, did they [the Jets] ask me about certain guys I played with over the years? Of course. Did I talk glowingly about teammates that I love? Yeah, why wouldn’t you? Do I love those guys on the list? Of course. Did I make demands about certain people? People want these things to be so true,” he said.
So he obviously discussed players, and what he didn't say speaks volumes. Further, she didn't say that Rodgers was the source of her reporting. Her source could've easily been someone with the Jets. I'm curious as to how you think she reported something like this, and the Jets then immediately sign Lazard afterwards and now, reportedly, are working with OBJ on getting a deal done. Is this just coincidence to you? Do you feel she pulled that report out of thin air?
wanted to make sure I read every single word carefully. It was reported that Rodgers made "demands" and these reports were done on purpose because they know people eat that shit up... People looooove to bash Rodgers and the media tried playing into it. He called them out and their BS.

It wasn't reported that way by Russini. She said, "wish list." Which is different than a demand. Here she is, in her own words, appearing on the Dan Patrick Show, who asked this exact question:
He called out Russini specifically for a report about free agents Rodgers wanted the Jets to sign. As for Schefter, Rodgers was broader.
“I would say the same thing that I told Schefty: ‘Lose my number. Nice try.’ I’ll speak for myself. I’m sure there will be people who have their sources. But, from what I’ve seen, it’s like I had a sheet of paper when I met with the jets and I went ‘Sign these people.’ That’s not the reality. That’s ridiculous. It’s so stupid to think that I would do that. Link - ( New Window )

I'm not sure what you're arguing with me about. Russini didn't say what Rodgers is insinuating she said. She specifically said it was a wish list, not a demand. Her source for her story doesn't have to be Rodgers, it clearly wasn't, and it doesn't have to be to be accurately reported. Rodgers is making a claim that seems to apply to people who discussed the report, but not the report itself. Can we agree that Rodgers' characterization of "demands" is not applicable to Russini's actual report? Because if you can find anywhere that Russini made this claim, I'd be impressed, because I can't find it.
I don't understand the denigration of Russini's reporting, which seems to be accurate, based on what she actually said. In Rodgers' own words, he leans towards substantiating her report, not denying it. The only thing he's denying is a strawman argument that isn't fact-based.
I don't know why you always think I'm arguing with you.
When I first posted about this, I was just adding some context and complementing your post. Do you read my whole posts?
Oh brother. You said that Rodgers denied the report and the media is full of bs. I replied saying that between the two, in this case I'd put money on Rodgers being full of shit. You responded I'd be broke because Russini admitted it. Then we had a back and forth about the legitimacy of Russini's report.
I originally replied to your post of "do you read the whole post before replying" because I had put in my post that Rodgers attempted to discredit Russini's report on the Pat McAfee show, and your post, as a direct reply to mine, said, "Rodgers said it was a BS story." I thought it was a strange reply after I already had mentioned that Rodgers tried to discredit it. That's all.
