Anyone watching? S2 premiere was on Friday.
Season 1 was really solid stuff. Randomly got into the show last year and it progressed into a great season of TV.
The show is basically Lord of Flies meets Alive meets LOST ... combined with Ladybugs?! Girls HS soccer team plane crashes in wilderness. Past and present day timelines, some spooky supernatural weird shit happening also.
Anyway -- S2E1 was a good start despite had some issues with the present day timeline. Some silly and convenient aspects to move things along, which is not uncommon on Showtime series' I have noticed. Entertaining nonetheless.
Spoiler alert below:
Holy crap with Lottie leading those people out into the woods and were burying that dude alive! This chick is crazy.
Do not have sex in the art studio of the person you murdered. I know the plan was to get in and get out - but they took that quite literally!

Haha, I mentioned this to my wife. Yeah, sure, why not put your DNA all over his art studio. FFS. If it were me, I wouldn't even be going in there without gloves and plastic over my head and feet. Think Mark Wahlberg killing Matt Damon in The Departed, except with a plastic hair "net" over my head, lunch lady style.
The announcement that they are going to stretch this into 5 seasons seems like a mistake. We will be subjected to all manner of filler, red herrings, and characterizations changing.
Now we have previously unseen survivors showing up lol. Tailies / red shirts to be cannibalized.
I may put this series on the shelf for a while and binge later.
I’ll keep watching for now but I can see us dropping it at some point.
Present day stakes will need to increase bigly to keep viewers captivated. Burying people alive probably a good start for that tho!

I understand this comment because some characters had some speaking roles in the S2 premiere that didn't at all in Season 1. However, in the burial scene in S1, it was clear there were a lot more survivors than the ones they showed on screen:
It’s not.
5 seasons is the goal.
There is some violence, but it's not overly gratuitous so far, IMO. My wife enjoys it, but she also loves the horror genre.
