I never realized the Dad in "Get Out" was the guy who played Eric in Billy Madison.

Dr. Samuel Beckett is perhaps history's greatest example of a terrible human being lauded as some sort of hero.

Leaping from person to person across the course of his own lifetime, presuming the authority to "put right what once went wrong," and "driven by an unknown force to change history for the better."

What morally bankrupt codswallop. Everyone who's ever given the thought experiment a moment's thought knows you don't go back and kill baby Hitler. Odious as the man was, his actions shaped history to its current state, and but for him, untold millions of people who would never have existed are alive today.

Sam Beckett fails the baby Hitler experiment, not just once, but countless times over the course of 97 episodes of Emmy and Golden Globe award winning television. Few twists of fate are crueler than that technological limitations kept Al from taking a pistol or tire iron and putting an end to this psychotic madman, thwarting his path of well intentioned sadism before so many lives were ruined.

Was one of the best things I have ever done

So I bought two…one for upstairs and one for downstairs

I’m an idiot for not doing it sooner

No brainer

But he was there for the start of the King family.

And gave Buddy Holly his start. Which, of course, is the essentially the reason Buddy Holly didn't live to see his 23rd birthday. But who cares - let's build a statue to this psychotic monster!

The issue always seems to be killing a baby, but why is baby Hitler the only one we can go back in time to kill?

I’d just set it to a different year and kill late teens Hitler.

realized until re-reading 1776 and the Angel in the whirlwind how improbable the American Revolution actually was.

People (me) talk about the Miracle on Ice being the biggest upset in sports history - and it is, and I will submit the American Revolution as the biggest upset in "modern" war history (eliminating things like the Battle of Thermopylae) and even going so far as saying the American Revolution was a bigger upset than the Miracle on Ice.

And I should have realized it, we all should have.
Being a Sports Fan

Mostly includes disappointment; that a championship for your team is pretty damned special.

Let's do the math...

I'm 64 and have been a passionate Giant, Met, Ranger and Knick fan since I was, let's say, 10.

54 seasons x 4 teams= 116 seasons.

Giants (4), Mets (2), Rangers (1), Knicks (2)= 9 Championships.

So about 92% of the time a season ends in

Woops...
dannysection 313 : 3/28/2023 8:02 am : link
Disappointment...

The other part I've realized is to just enjoy the regular season.

To answer the question ...

Drinking water. Months ago, I started drinking nothing but water and feel 1000 times better.
