Meanwhile, over at #Giants coach Brian Daboll’s table, he says they’ve had talks about a bunch of free agents. Calls Beckham “a good young man” and says they had a “good visit, good dinner” late last season. Says he’s texted him this offseason.

Brian Daboll, asked if he thinks Saquon Barkley will be at the start of Giants offseason program: “I don’t know.”
Said he last texted with Saquon 2 weeks ago. Won’t speak for Barkley

#Rams coach Sean McVay confirms the team has interest in bringing back Odell Beckham Jr. and says he loves him, but notes there’s a lot of other teams interested so they’ll see how it plays out.

Brian Daboll just admitted he has texted with Odell Beckham Jr. directly this offseason.
“Once or twice,” he said with a smirk

Daboll said he’s texted with Odell “once or twice” this offseason.
Feels like the Giants are hanging around so they can be a landing spot if/when his asking price drops.

A reporter prefaced a question to Daboll listing all of the Giants’ successes last season. He interrupted with “and got smoked in the playoffs.” That Eagles loss clearly left a bad taste that has lingered.

I asked Brian Daboll why it worked so well in NY with Isaiah Hodgins, as opposed to not seeing field in Buffalo. He credited the player, saying Hodgins got an opportunity and made the most of it, adding big keys were already knowing system and developing trust with Daniel Jones.
Would agree with this.

I love this answer. I hope he was able to take a second to appreciate the accomplishments and accolades, but I'm glad this is his takeaway from last season. I hope he grows to hate that team half as much as we do.

Ah, but did he FaceTime him? Everyone knows Daboll is a FaceTime guy.
I think this is really important. The worst possible scenario would be another 2017 where McAdoo came in acting like he had accomplished something amazing while having no answers for when the close games started going against him.
Brian Daboll, asked directly if he wants Odell Beckham Jr.:
“Those are conversations that are private.”

Hahahaha, I’ve never heard it stated better than that brother. Nice 👍
I've mentioned this before here, I am very surprised at how cavalier Giants fans were about that humiliating performance. "The Eagles were the better team."
Sure, that's true, but that does not explain what happened that night, and I'd love to hear Daboll's take on it.

Cavalier? Who? That loss sucked ass. And it was their front 7 that completely overwhelmed our OL. Many people (me) weren't surprised because we don't match up well with them (or Dallas) in the trenches. Until that's fixed, we still won't. It's a bitter pill to swallow, and that was a painful loss.
We are going to have a new center. Maybe Daboll has seen enough and feels it must be upgraded.
Perhaps Daboll does not want to be that overmatched ever again.
Other than the midseason goatee, agree completely.
I think it’s partly because they get asked about it non stop.

Our DL and ILBs got crushed too. If he's watched the game as many times as I think he has, he clearly came away from that game telling Schoen the DL depth and ILB positions have to improve, both of which have happened so far this offseason.
Yeah that was pretty foreboding. That game was just a trainwreck from start to finish though. I can't think of one Giant that had even a decent game. Maybe Breida.
Indeed
They are attacking DT depth and ILB in the offseason not by coincidence. They probably believed Feliciano was a weak link. They probably liked what they saw out of Bredeson. They recognized they needed a big mismatch type as a receiving option (Waller). Not a guy that will get shut down by a great CB. They recognized adding more speed at WR will create much better spacing on the field vertically and horizontally and also help the run game.
If Dabs said, 'I'm going to walk across the Hudson'...I'd be like 'Damn right he can!' Haha.
