25. New York Giants
Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee
Darius Slayton led Giants receivers with just 724 yards last season. Despite re-signing Slayton and Sterling Shepard and adding a few pass-catchers in free agency, it's safe to say the Giants need a standout wide receiver. I love how Hyatt flourished in Tennessee's offense when Josh Heupel stepped in. He is slightly undersized at 6 feet and 176 pounds, but he has a lot of speed and posted 67 catches for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. Hyatt could be the Giants' WR1 as soon as the draft card is turned in.
(He unbelievably has Hooker going...#5 overall... I am very open about the fact I don't watch much college football but previously the highest I saw Hooker was early round 2.. 5th? Wow)
5. Seattle Seahawks (from DEN)
Hendon Hooker, QB, Tennessee
OK, this one might raise some eyebrows, but hear me out. I think Hooker is really under-scouted right now, largely because he's coming off the torn ACL in his left knee. But I love his strong arm and 6-3 frame. Before the injury, Hooker looked great for the Vols. He led the nation in yards per attempt (9.5), threw two interceptions over 11 starts and was a top-10 passer in terms of completion percentage (69.6%). I see a potential franchise quarterback and someone who can lead an offense. Go watch his performance against Alabama if you disagree.
The Seahawks recently re-signed Geno Smith, but this is an excellent opportunity to draft and develop Hooker while also letting him rehab the knee. Smith turns 33 this season, and his new contract offers Seattle various outs over the next three seasons.

agreed that is high for Hooker
Interesting how he has Quentin Johnson as the first WR taken, and Flowers is taken a couple spots before us.
Nobody is going to drop Hyatt because he ran a 4.40 instead of a 4.32.
Hooker certainly has a lot of question marks around him.

Jones was a consensus top 20 pick. Hooker is nowhere close to that.
NFL drafts blow up most mocks. There are a handful of guys that start to get a feel for how the NFL feels about these prospects closer to draft time and their mocks start to reflect that(that’s when people start talking “risers”). Those are the mocks I’d actually pay attention to, the vast majority are just white noise.
I'm sorry Ryan, but you are going to be surprised by how soon Hooker goes. I was hoping he would fall to the Giants in the 2nd round. That is not going to happen.
Jerry Rice ran a 4.6. I don't remember anyone catching him from behind.
The kid scored FIVE touchdowns against Alabama. How much more dynamic can you be?
Or a genius for a guy who’ll be 30 when his 2nd contract comes up; if he’s good, extend; if not dump him

I don’t think consensus means what you think it does..
I agree, IMO its a terrible mock pick to have Herndon at #5.

Stop Jones was a top 10 pick all day. Not a 3rd to 5th rounder. That’s just plain dumb.

I had DJ with a 2nd round value. Sy'56 had him as a borderline back end of the first/early 2nd round grade.
Most analysts just didn't have him that high.
age may be a plus if he is a mature person. he can start asap.
in 15 yrs the best qbs will all play to 40 anyway.
5 is crazy high and SEA is all in on geno for 1-2 yrs.
but ATL 8 WASH 16 TAMPA 19, all possible lookers.
if he lasts beyond, ok maybe SEA at 20, then BAL 22.
