That is not playoff hockey
I’m sure Gallant is going to stress tightening up their passes in the defensive zone.
Once again Igor back on his game which is the most important thing going into the playoffs

LT, with respect, but I'm 100% in Rick's camp--I know, you'll say what a surprise, two complainers. Each of us watches games of teams we root hard for through similar but distinct lenses, and I could not watch the stream of careless, mindless giveaways--oh, well, I'll just flick the puck over there and hope for the best, WTF, right?--Drives me bonkers. Same with Miller deep in his own end when under pressure.
And you know what: the Captain, Kane (himself culpable), Gallant, Valley all said the same thing, in effect: you can't just flick a switch come playoffs; you have to hone your game and get your habits right going into SCP. Valley called out Panarin in particular, saying--what a shocker! because I see it nearly every game--you can't commit the careless giveaways at your own BL, because it immediately flips the switch to constant defensive zone pressure and leaning on Igor.
Maybe it doesn't matter against an undermanned team like BJs and enjoy the ride, but it will against teams when the stakes are high and tight.
First time I've caught a Maloney PG with Kane: scary guy.
very interesting to watch the evolution of the Kids' Line
at this time of year--high 1st Round picks each of them--become a tenacious forechecking group with long stretches of controlling the puck and storming the opponent's net. Adds a dimension to their good skating entries through neutral ice led by Chytil. Kakko keeps doing a lot of the dirty work that is key to the rushes and puck possession.

Really the only thing left (which is a big thing) is for Kakko and Laffy to figure out how to score more often. Chytl is pretty much there. But this is a well above average third line compared to almost any team with a chance to become dominant if Laffy or Kakko become the type of scoring threats their lofty draft status suggests.

Fair enough. Sometimes I just get caught up in enjoying victories. Rangers were in the Conference Finals last year and looks geared up to make another run. But I agree, the goal should be to win the Stanley Cup. You're not going to achieve that with being careless with the puck.

Their puck possession in the playoffs last year also improved dramatically as the Rangers advanced.
They got complacent and lazy. 3-0 against a shitty team and they began to become lax and float.
Yea, come play-off time we'll see if he can find his physical game a bit more, but watching him during the regular season is a pleasure.
Carolina will also lose to Tampa so the Rangers move to 5 points behind the Hurricanes (but Carolina has a game in hand)
New Jersey 100 points, 7 games left
Rangers 98 points, 7 games left
Rangers would actually have had a shot at the Metro if they held that lead at MSG vs. Carolina last week
