This is how I’d solve the Thursday night dilemma
Each division has two Thursday games per year.
Kickoff Thursday is the SB champ
Games not in a real order.
All Games are division games and divisions play back to back weeks. Means all travel is “local”. Division games every week.
Each year just rotate the division games.

They will be playing at the Stone Pony this Saturday night!

Taking djstat’s idea and expanding it to address Robbie’s concern about home field advantage.
Give each team 2 Thursday games including Thanksgiving. If the GIANTS are home against the Commanders and the EAGLES are home against the Cowboys, then later in the year, the COMMANDERS are home against the Eagles and the COWBOYS are home against the Giants. Not playing the same teams but at least the home field advantage is somewhat neutralized.
A nightmare for the schedule maker (really the computer programmers).
Yep, Goodell cannot be serious about player safety and then actually try to float THIS idea about flexing the games. The games stink because the players are still banged up. Get rid of it, I remember when Thursday night was a big night for a decent college football matchup.
It is still Thursday and people don’t bitch about it
