if we love a player at 25 possibly giving that up to move up a later pick seems unwise. You trade down when the pool of players is relatively even and/or your targets are gone.

Not only that but the sites these guys use to run their mocks are laughable. Even without trades. The typical mock thread goes something like: Hey guys, check out my mock draft! I would be pretty happy if things fell this way…

has Flowers rated at 42. Quite often you can get Addison at our pick. The other simulator that doesn't throw a trade at you is better.

No but I hate all mock drafts

there are often at least 2 “ surprise “ picks by that point; players drafted not expected as first round, trades starting a run on a position where later teams think they won’t get a better player of need if they don’t jump in now( positional deep drafts).
Depending on the flow of the draft and the Giants board at that point it may be a good move.

Mock Simulators are just fun for goofing around but are 100% faulty. I was doing a bunch of PFF simulator mocks and picking for the Giants. One day I decided to pick for Carolina after they got the first pick in a trade and I then checked to see who the Computer chose for the Giants. It chose 4 running backs in the first 6 picks. Kind of worthless, right!

I did the same thing with the nfl pro draft simulator and a similar thing happened. Basically only for having some fun, but the way they're programmed is not reality.

pff is far worse,because its solely based upon their rankings and little else
