The New York Yankees have agreed to terms with free agent outfielder Franchy Cordero, according to ESPN. The report indicates Cordero will make the Yankees' Opening Day roster.
Cordero, 28, was with the Orioles in spring training this season, but didn't make the team. It wasn't for lack of spring performance, as he hit .413 with four doubles, a triple and two home runs in 46 at-bats.
In 726 career MLB plate appearances, Cordero is a .221/.290/.386 (83 OPS+) hitter with 35 doubles, five triples, 21 homers, 74 RBI, 91 runs, 13 stolen bases and -0.6 WAR.

He’s out of options so he either makes the team, gets traded or released. They can’t send him down to the minors
My guess is he’s going back to NY so he can be traded. Out of options and they’ll likely use that space for another pitcher at some stage. He’s shown he isn’t a major league caliber player unfortunately.
Yes.
So did KC fans. FWIW.
I know the O's have improved...but what the hell?:)
So do you think they'll find one?
Calhoun is better. A platoon of him and Cabrera in LF would be much better than Hicks and still leave Cabrera available for utility work against righties.
Cashman usually does well in these situations, bullpen piece that can be put on the scranton shuttle most likely.
Cordero can be sent down as soon as Bader is ready Florial cant.

Florial for a SP?

Cordero is out of options too.
Never mind, I am sure Cashman's basement quant told him Frenchy's ABWobaJr metric was in the top 10 percentile. If only the guy could play.
haha, my thought exactly
Boston ran him out of town ? That's a plus.

He was let go by the Orioles...and the Red Sox didn't want him - that is not a plus.

I was being sarcastic.
