I'm new to posting this forum but from what I've been reading over the past few weeks, there doesn't seem to be a lot of love for Hyatt being the pick at #25 for the Giants. I see a lot of love for Zay Flowers and JSN. IMHO - I'm getting tired of these 5'9 or 5'10 smaller slot receivers who are extremely talented but always hurt I.e. Sheppard, Toney, Wan'del.
I like Hyatt because of his speed - he will stretch the field for us. His weight is a little light, but who doesn't bulk up a bit once they hit the NFL. And at 6'0 he is a bit taller target. He has long arms and coaches say he plays even bigger than his size. I think he has the potential to be a future #1 WR.
Not only that, he seems to be a high Caliber guy that the Giants Staff would like. He won the Fred Biletnikoff Award, was runner up in the Maxwell Award and a semi finalist for the Walter Camp Award.
If the Giants of something other than a WR with their first pick (i.e. center) I wouldn't mind them getting a 6'3' 215lb WR in the second round. AT Perry, Cedric Tillman, Xavier Hutchinson - a big 3rd down/endzone target that is available and not always hurt.
Thought and of course criticism is welcome.
I just want 4-5 potential starters. I am open to most positions
If it fills needs, even better
But if we get a stud ILB, dline or IOL in rd 1. So be it
That being said, I don't buy into the smaller WRs being hurt concept..till someone backs it up with real data. Just because WanDale Robinson hurt his ACL doesn't mean it's a trend among smaller WRs.
4.4 speed
He is a first round talent in this draft.

Completely different skill set. Smith was the best all around receiver coming out of college, elite route runner, excellent hands, and good after the catch. Not saying Hyatt can develop into a great route runner but we don’t see that much on his tape. He was asked to be a burner and did just that
It's ridiculous the number of TDs he had with go routes, maybe he's that fast he doesn't need any other moves lol
Reading Retention 101 - I mentioned his weight and he'll probably play closer to 190 once the NFL season starts (reread what I said). And yes, you're probably right about worrying about injury with Flowers or JSN because of the Giant's recent history with smaller receivers, but getting stung a few time you tend NOT to put your hand back in the beehive. :-)

I like just about every WR more than him at #25. Conflating Flowers with the NYG bad luck based on size isn't compelling. Flowers is way up there.

Not many guys with his build gain 17 lbs before their rookie season if ever. I heard the same dream above Devobta. Good luck with it, it's atypical. Trying smart-ass route doesn't suit you.
That all being said my favorite wr is Flowers.
What his snaps vs Cincinnati 2021.
