South Carolina cornerback Cam Smith, a potential first-round pick, will be taking a Top 30 visit with the #Giants, per sources.
It was primarily scouts at NCSU Pro Day, though linebacker coaches around the league will probably regret not attending the workout.
Linebacker Isaiah Moore — a four-year starter considered a mid-Day 3 pick — really impressed scouts. His times in the 40 ranged from 4.62 to 4.68 seconds, a full tenth faster than scouts expected. The short shuttle was in the range of 4.38 to 4.44 seconds, and his three-cone was as fast as 7.04 seconds.
Moore is a natural ILB in a 3-4 alignment, though a few 4-3 teams are looking at him as a middle or strong side ‘backer. I’ve known since the Combine the New York Giants like Moore an awful lot. The Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts also like him. Keep an eye on the New England Patriots. I’m told they are fond of Moore, who fits the style and substance the franchise looks for in a linebacker. Link - ( New Window )
Not 1st.
He was media darling during the CFB season and was in 1st rd mock but once experts dived in and analyzed his tape he started to drop and now he is 70th best player in Dane Brugler ranking and out of top 50 in Daniel Jeremiah’s big board.
DJ Turner is the fastest player in the draft. Well coached and played on a team that neutralized the Ohio State passing attack two years in a row. Sleeper pick for 25. DJ Turner - ( New Window )

I just looked at the CBS Draft Prospect list and he is #13 overall and the #2 at CB..

CBS has him #106 overall and #15 CB. I use CBS only because it is easy to access. (Caveat - It is a guide and not the be all and end all.) I know sometimes they have prospects out of place. We also know that you find gems well back in the draft that get overlooked.
I would think a guy like Turner is a late day two pick or early day three pick. He could bump because of his speed, but he apparently lacks the physicality, at the moment, needed to be a reliable CB.
pass on Smith and Johnston. Like Stevenson and Addison more, although my first two WRs are not surprisingly JSN and Flowers. Also like Tillman, Downs, and Perry.
Smith seems like a Jalen Ramsey type personality. Dude is very confident but it feels a bit annoying.
It's not annoying if he's smothering the other team's #1 and smacking the piss out of people.
NFL football - and especially the CB position - is about confidence.
We should take this news seriously too. Unlike Jerry Reese, who used these visits to vette people he had questions about and almost snubbed the guys he was going to draft, Schoen appears to use them on guys he's interested in, to spend as much time with them as he possibly can.

that doesnt sound like a 1st rd pick
if he is there in the 2nd, take a shot
One scouts opinion, but he thinks teams taking Cam Smith or Quentin Johnston in the 1st are making a mistake.

1. QB Hendon Hooker
2. DT Gervon Dexter
3. TE Payne Durham
4. WR Zay Flowers
5. CB Cam Smith
Teams are allowed 30 visits at the team facility and another 3 one hour Zoom calls, so a total of 33.
