My 3 volume Complete Calvin and Hobbes collection. I take good care of it but it shows signs of frequent use.

when Calvin and Hobbes ended. Not the only reason but that was the final push.
Grey. Thank you for your post. You reminded me I have two C & H books:

"It's a Magical World," and "Tenth Anniversary Book." I have not looked at them in years.

You just turned my afternoon into fun!

After that I thought he went to the well far too many times with the snow-related gags. I liked the story arcs spread out over a couple weeks: Spaceman Spiff, Calvin being an annoying bug or suddenly shrinking to the size of an insect, Tracer Bullet, the surreal fantasy themes. Towards the end he got away from most of that and sort of went overboard with the winter/snow/sledding down a hill while philosophising, building snowmen, etc etc gags. It was still a good strip but got a bit predictable.

Calvin and Hobbes comics for my kids this morning after seeing this thread.

I remember reading them as a kid, and I think my kids will love them as well.
Some of my favorites are ones with no words

And the ones where people actually treat Hobbes as real

Or when he isn't

That last one leads to I think my all time favorite, when Calvin's dad comes in again because of the noise and they think he's a monster and attack him.
