And that’s after losing their first 8! 41-13 since 1970. Given how bad some of those teams were, that’s pretty incredible.
This team has had a lot of ups and downs over the years. But one thing you could almost always count on with them: they had a great ace to take the hill on opening day. Seaver, Gooden, Cone, Saberhagen, Leiter, Glavine, Pedro, Santana, Dickey, Thor, Degrom. Now Scherzer.

We need to start developing young and talented arms again for the rotation. Tidwell (drafted last year) appears to be the best starting prospect in the minors now. The Mets need to get that department up to par now. Peterson's 27 and will hopefully stick from now on forward, Quintana or no Quintana. Megill is a question mark still.

Jeff McNeil is the first player in nearly half a decade to go 11 consecutive games with zero strikeouts and at least one hit. The last was Andrelton Simmons in 2018. No Met has done it since Moises Alou in 2007.
McNeil hasn't whiffed in a Major League game since last Sept. 20.
his contract may be one of the best in baseball, and he still may be one of the most underrated players. he's ben zobrist 2.0.

Funny you should say, that I was thinking that yesterday. Even in their worst days, they always had decent pitching and if not an ace, a Craig Swan type who was just a notch below that.
Always love scoring first in a pitcher's duel.
Enjoy :-)

Anyone going to be at the game Sunday?
A true man of the people

Yup. Parada would be the future C. Leaves a hole at "future 3b" but they have Mauricio/Jett Williams and of course trades/signings.
No longer a save situation

Please Id trade Baty, Alvarez, Parada, and Williams... And the Marlins probably wouldn't even do that
