and selecting Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon.
In a deal to move up 13 spots, the Giants know there’s a run on top corners coming very soon, and they swap first-rounders with Houston (plus some later picks) |
That seems like a big trade up but they don't estimate the cost. What would the likely cost the Giants to move up that far? How much is Gonzalez worth over someone like Deonte Banks?

But I also think it may be a yr too early
Really depends how much more they like a particular guy.
Defense, especially if they bring in one more dline in FA, would look top ten to me
I'm already working on my "Fearless 2023" draft, with Gonzalez as the Round One pick. But, how much will it cost, it's gonna be expensive

He is THE best press corner in the draft (that includes Witherspoon). That's what Wink needs opposite Jackson.

They would surrender the 5th year option to trade out of the first round.
i dont see the nyg giving up all their day 2 picks but if gonzalez ends up on that level and they get him, it would probably be worth it.
more realistically i could see them giving up a 3rd or 4th to move up a shorter distance if joey porter or witherspoon falls to the late teens.
Simpson? Newton?
Or did you mean Sauce?
If they were to do it they may chose to use next years 1 instead of this years 2. With more Cap space to play with next year and they would be betting on being a playoff team again.
Overrated? Based on what? He’s is the best CB in the draft and the gap between him and the next group is huge.
That said, this trade isn’t happening. Gonzalez will be gone by 12 and they’d have to move into the top 10 to get him. Not happening
TIA.
Which is why we shouldn't do this.
I have no opinion on whom the Giants should draft, because I know too little about the prospects; BBI is one of the forums I use during draft season to get more informed.
On Johnson the knock I hear/read is he does not have great hands, is a body catcher and has a high percentage of drops.
Is this a concern for you?
I think you mean...Sauce

this years version of Juice, Houston should take him.

Juice, Sauce! What's the difference? :-0

I meant Gonzalez, meaning if he’s that good the Texans taking him would be a good move for them.
