On a note note im really worried about Rj. He looks lost out there like his brain is shut off during the game and the Knicks are going to need him to play well to have any chance to win in the playoffs

Thibs really has to earn his money when it comes to refocusing RJ. The Knicks have enough to really threaten with an RJ playing well but don't have enough scoring or defense when he's playing like this. Hopefully Obi reading him the riot act on the bench was the start of a turnaround
and a sleeve on his right leg. He was injured late last year, to that knee and hasn't looked particularly good since.
The media hasn't talked about it, but he favors the leg in all/every movement i've seen. I wouldn't be surprised if he has surgery in the off-season. I'm thinking the Knicks are keeping things quiet and he's gutting his way through it.
I'm not an orthopedist, or dr., but i'm guessing something is going on with him, as he doesn't fully put weight on that leg, his jump leg when finishing with his left hand.
They need to limit his minutes and he needs to figure out a way to get some more explosion in his game. Whatever weight he added in the post season of 22 is not helping.
So the Knicks are probably gonna need to keep playing the games like they matter. If they do, the Nets won't catch them. I like the Knicks chances v the Cavs.

I have noticed that something has been wrong with his leg too
It's affecting his explosion...he needs to rest it
There is a good chance that Barrett will lead the NBA in getting his shot blocked. He is in 4th place with 90. The leader is at 94. Link - ( New Window )
Obi is a quiet player and always a team first guy. He almost never forces shots. He is always moving the ball to others. For him to get to that point, something bad had to happen. And Barrett was the one who went to him to apologize. Whatever happened, I am kind of glad that it did happen. It is good to see Obi have that passion and not back down. I hope this lights a fire under him.

pushing leads to start the 4th and tonight they did it even with the Cavs playing Garland and Mitchell the entire 2nd half, they didnt rest to start the 4th..
The bench was incredible again..
and This game easily could of been a 20 point defecit to start the game and Brunson went shot for shot with Mitchell, thats why he is a star, you know going in you got a guy that can either blow a game open or keep touch with the other team while others struggle..
i dont even care about missed shots, they happen, but why are you still forcing? you habe a guy whose got 48, give him the ball and GTFO of the way..
we dont need you forcing up 3s, we dont need you forcing up floaters over 7 footers and we dont need you dribbling for 20 seconds only to miss at the rim..
There were a couple of times where it looked like he killed momentum and Thibs called timeout and took him out and the Knicks regained control..
The Knicks will go as far as their defense takes them. Everyone was so worried about losing Randle and his points and rebounds. Look at the last two games. Outside of that crazy first quarter last night, the defense is playing much better. Game is on the line going into the 4th and we hold Cleveland to 14 points? Think about that for a second. We have Hart playing the 4. Yes, Hart. The defense has been s9 much better without Randle. I know it is a small sample size, obviously, but as good as Randle has been on offense this year, he has taken a step back on D. I will say that while Randle is still arguing with refs, at least he isn't staying in the back court complaining while the game is going on. Both him and RJ have been bad defensively this year. To me, that is on Thibs for not holding them accountable. I am enjoying these last two games. Miami scored like 126 points against us two games ago. No way in hell Miami should be scoring like that this year. This small ball lineup is actually having the opposite effect. Most teams go small to get more shooters on the court and increase their scoring. We are going small and our defense is playing better. It's kind of crazy to think about.
what we can get this summer using the picks (and maybe the Dallas pick if it conveys) for RJ and the Rose/Fournier contracts. And I'm not against moving Mitch in the right deal. RJ/Mitch and stuff for LaVine?
If they can't swing a big trade, all they gotta do is extend IQ and Hart and continue to make incremental improvement where you can. I'd even look to extend iHart if he's willing.
Amazing.
BIG TIME WIN.
Big fucking time.
Another note: Hartenstein once again played the entire 4th quarter at center
Hart put Mitchell on lockdown in that 4th
Point God.
15-6 with him - right around a 60-win pace.
Hart put Mitchell on lockdown in that 4th
Check what I said earlier in the thread...just put Hart on whoever the other team's best guard or small forward is
Quote:
The cavs and Mitchell couldnt shoot any better than they did in that 1st quarter and then the Knicks locked in..

two games in a row he has locked down the other teams best player in the 4th
Refs got quiet after they blew calling that kick to Hartensteins gut - like they weren’t going to whistle anything that wasn’t crystal clear.

wow - didn't know Obi had that in him. From what y'all say, sounds like RJ needed a talking-to.
