Man I've been looking at tape of these two, and they can really make a difference on the the Giants Defense
In fact if you look up and down the Defense with adding LB Bobby Okereke, CB Amani Oruwariye, DT A' Shawn Robinson and DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches the Giants have really strengthened their defense for the coming season
I'm really looking forward to seeing what these guys can do
especially when Andre Patterson gets his hands on A' Shawn Robinson and Rakeem Nunez-Roches
I don't think it's going to be easy to run on the Giants this year
Dex played like 90% last yr him getting an xtra 6-8 snaps off per game will really help
plus nacho and ashawn both legit pro's hopefully ashawn can play some 5T ojulari would be much better in mostly pass rush downs
I think DJ davidson may be able to add a handfull of quality snaps too
we still need a 3rd DE pass rusher. Cant rely on Kayvon and Azeez only
Yeah, not surprising the run defense looked weaker without him. But I like what they did regardless.
But for the first time in a very long time - our roster has decent to good starters and some depth. We could upgrade on some spots - but we are not shopping hungry anymore.
Losing Tomlinson was fine. Losing Blake Martinez was not. Not anyone's fault but this is what became the downfall of the run defense on an overall basis.
Who needs an EDGE when we have Wink to scheme it? ;)
The good UFA Edges, 30 and under, are priced way too high for the Giants. Maybe the market resets over the Summer. We'll see. They might go for an older vet, a guy like Justin Houston, on a cheaper one-year deal, but I think they'd like to see someone already on the roster emerge and seize that third Edge spot with both hands. Stranger things have happened.

but yes, want to see what the new run defe looks like. The run D was ok when Nick Williams and DJ were out there but once it got to Ellis and Mondaeux, it got ugly.

I don't really trust Ximines to be a good option at the third edge spot myself. Even so it's pretty thin pickings.

Clearly, the Giants prioritized bolstering their run defense as well as their secondary this offseason, much more than finding a third Edge, which seems to be put on the back-burner until next year. Pray that Thibs and Ojulari stay healthy.
