I'm sure someone here knows why an 1 PM NFC home game is played on CBS?

Media drug deal?

I don't watch or pay for TV so pardon my ignorance.

Been happening for years now, We played the Eagles in Philly on CBS
My biggest take away here is it’s a giant

Insult to season ticket holders. No non day game until October 22! If it was easy to say no to the tickets this year I would seriously consider it. Just so frustrating.

This will sound like more NFL/Goodell bashing, but the fans who attend the games are at the bottom of the totem poll now for today's NFL. You are replaceable. Just a nameless consumer who already paid for the ticket. They are more interested in the viewer in Brussels or Beijing.
I remember back in the day, Dieion Sanders said the best players
GiantBlue : 5/12/2023 8:25 am : link
go to the teams that play a bunch of games in "Prime Time".

You attract better free agents with more prime time games.

If I remember correctly, Thibs had his coming out game on prime time.

Instead of wailing tears, we should be saying "Bring it!"

... Now that Ticketmaster has converted to a up-to-the-second demand-based dynamic pricing model. Face value for the end zone nosebleeds to the opener are $185. Face value!

I’m planning on going to the Raiders game in Vegas. Just looked and the lowest price listed at the moment is $275, for the worse nose bleeds! I’ll wait until the game is closer to find them cheaper and hopefully the Raiders have a poor record.

Same here. I have a group of about 10 people who want to meet up in Vegas because why not. Figured I’d go grab some face value seats for a fair price. $350 for goal line seats 6 rows from the roof. Not happening. Just gotta wait till later. Screw AI.

It's insane what Ticketmaster is allowed to get away with. Tickets for Manchester United-Arsenal were driven up to 500+ downstairs with the same pricing model. Thievery.

Dynamic pricing has nothing to do with face value, people out their tickets on ticket master and they set the price they want...with the dynamic pricing it means the price will go down as you get closer to the event and as the other tickets dont sell because its to high..

Its why people wait until day of to get tickets, dynamic pricing allows for prices to fluctuate based on thr market, it has nothing to do with face value

no bias from the NFL there.

I think it indicates the schedule makers think the Giants are going to be good (they generally don't give crappy teams a lot of primetime); better than some Giant fans think.
The Christmas game is a big FUCK YOU from the league
David B. : 5/12/2023 8:54 am : link
to both the Giants and their fans -- who are the largest media market in the league.

If the NFL INSISTS on USING the Giants and biggest media market to make even MORE money on xmas day, they're doing it WRONG. Give the Giants a team they have a decent chance of beating and a lot more fans might actually tune in.

Even if it HAD to be the Giants, it didn't HAVE to be Philly. There are other teams with market's as large as Philly. Washington. The Rams. The Saints. Fuck, if really you want ALL of NYC watching, how about Giants Jets?

But no, you give them Philly.

But what a nice blowjob the league is giving Philly fans this year for xmas.

I won't be watching that game.

'Make line go up' is always more important, and there's more room to go up elsewhere.
Looks like 10-7 to me

They love it! You obviously have never been!

No one loves....Buffalo outside at night in 40 below zero.

no one loves. Philly night games..with 100s of arrest....and the drunkest imaginable idiots.

I have been going to games for 40 years...love the tailgates....love the live action and everything in between.

I might go to one night game. The Giants organization knows....the majority of season tkt holder hate night games.

I started giving away the night games to my kids....the truth is...night games are better in bars, parties than in the stadium.

I stand by my displeasure...
4 night home night games sucks.

+1 here George! I live an hour away and the late games always get me home after 1am. I can deal with one or two but 4 is a bit much.

I'm still going to them all. Lower level 20 rows from field is just too cool to pass up (@ $138). At least we do an "after-gate" and have a burger/beer so we don't have to deal with traffic. Takes the same time but less stress.

I got 9-8. A lot of tough games in the first 6 weeks
The_Boss : 5/12/2023 9:46 am : link
If some guys break out and/or take the next step, maybe we win 2 more games to go 11-6.
Very tough schedule on paper,
Simms11 : 5/12/2023 9:52 am : link
but we know circumstances will dictate wins and losses moreso. Injuries play a huge role. I think this team, as currently constructed can be very competitive, but we need some good health and expected development of younger players. Neal, Schmitz and DJ need to show improvement.
Athletic has us as a bad schedule
X : 5/12/2023 10:08 am : link
Brian Daboll, the reigning coach of the year, already knew his sophomore campaign would come with a bevy of challenges, but he couldn’t have possibly forecast this scenario. Seven of the Giants’ first 11 games are on the road against the Cardinals, 49ers, Dolphins, Bills, Raiders, Cowboys and Commanders. And three of their home games in that opening stretch are against the Cowboys and Seahawks (two playoff teams from 2022), as well as Rodgers’ Jets. If the Giants can manage to tread water, they’ll have a chance to make a run in the second half, but that’s going to be a mighty task.
Yikes

Giants better be damn lucky on the injury side of things.

But the bitching about lack of 1pm Sunday games for a team that made the divisional round last year is insufferable.

Cold home games late in the year should be welcomed by this fan base.

I will never understand bitching about the schedule. Get the NFL Ticket or go to a bar or watch at home but please STFU!!!
For those complaining about the “bitching”
bhill410 : 5/12/2023 12:44 pm : link
Do you have season tickets? If not go get a PSL and then go pay the thousands a year of them and then talk to us. If at that point you think this is great then so be it, I will shut up. But for those of us accountable for a non-material amount of the giants revenue it effing sucks. Considering the amount we are paying and the impact it has on us at a minimum entitles us to gripe on a giants message board.

Also prime time games early in the season doesn’t mean they expect us to be good, it means probably the opposite and they want to schedule games before a bad record occurs. Mnf games which are non flexible in December indicate confidence, in September not so much.
Geez. Looks like 9-8 or something along those lines
