Presuming that the $14 million offer to Saquon was real, it wouldn't be that hard to fit in Hopkins in the cap if his salary replaced Barkley's.
A RB by committee would replace SB (Breida,Brightwell and Gray)...not as explosive, but more likely to last the season. They would benefit from having Hopkins out there, as you can't crowd the LOS with Hopkins-Waller.

I think the cards would take a fifth.
Hopkins has no guaranteed money left on his deal. Trading or cutting him saves them the same amount.
I suspect they are holding out to see if any trade partner materializes, but will cut him eventually.
