NFT: Dublin and Killarney dining recommendations

Kevin in CT : 5/16/2023 10:44 am
Traveling to Ireland for a 8 night golf trip in a few weeks. Courses are all booked but really need suggestions on places to eat and drink in Dublin and Killarney. We do have one reservation for F.X. Buckley so far in Dublin (hopefully that’s a good place).

Any recommendations are appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Didn't really do the foodie thing too much on this trip and only stopped at Ross Castle in Killarney but of note in Dublin that we went to was

Wilde Nice restaurant located in a hotel in one of the more touristy areas of Dublin.

the Bank on College Green Again, centrally located, this is a good cocktail bar that I thought also had good food.

Believe it is Celtic Whisky Pub & Larder - IIRC. Good seafood. Been 3 years, but it was VG.

Also try to see a traditional irish music jam at one of the pubs. Cobblestone is a famous one but gets packed. Brazen Head is another.
Great breakfast spot in Temple Bar

stage door cafe. Owner is an absolute character will probably insult you a bit but its all in good fun. Was the best Irish Breakfast I had on my whole ten day trip through the Island. Not that big a place may be in issue if you have a large group. Wish I could go back. have a great trip
I didn’t think you were allowed to drink

O'Neil's Pub & Kitchen (best corned beef I've ever had)
Brazen Head (oldest pub in Dublin)
The Quays

Killarney-we were only there for one night I believe. Our trip was 4 years ago.

If you're looking for a break from the traditional Irish fare, Killarney Brewing Company was a nice change of pace. They have pizzas and their in-house beer was also very good.
Take the 1 hour trip from Killarney to Kinsale

Kinsale is a small town on the water with tons of amazing, gourmet restaurants. Fishy Fishy was my favorite—that was about 20 years ago.

I think it is still around.
