Anyone watch this? I just finished the season and wouldn't say I hated it or loved it. But, the final episode I just found annoying and the very ending just moronic.
For me, the bright spot in this series was the cousin, Isaac. He cracked me up.
I agree the last 2 episodes were so over the top they turned cartoonish, but IMO doesn’t detract from the overall quality. Really good characters, quality dark humor
And I get what you're saying about the ending, there were elements to it that were bizarre, but I found myself relating to what I believe the writer was trying to communicate...the consequences of anger and bitterness and damage that it does, that can only be conquered by the acceptance of the consequences, accountability for their actions that brought them to this point, and finally, forgiveness and an acknowledgement of the other's humanity.
I think it wrapped up pretty nicely, but obviously if they choose to renew, there's a ton of directions it can go from a storytelling perspective that could be compelling. Next beef could be Isaac vs Danny AND Amy vs George, or better, Amy vs Naomi.
It was ok and kept me interested enough to watch the whole series and that is highly unusual for me. I start a lot of series and cut bait early on 80% of them
For posting this I was going to start it this weekend but now that I know the ending is crap I won't waste my time. To many other good options on TV these days

You may like the ending, don’t let us decide for you. If it’s entertaining all the way through does it make it all worthless if you don’t like the conclusion?
I didn’t like how it ended but I’m glad I watched. Good acting, good writing, creative plot, strangely funny. That isn’t a waste.

It’s consistent with the research that shrooms can open the mind to change. It was the Two forced together to really recon with each other as people, wounded people more alike than not. It was fine by me.
overall, the series was up and down. The highs weren't all that high. I wouldn't put it high on the list of shows to watch, but let's face it, if you watch a lot of telly, you'll get around to a lot worse than Beef. They wasted Maria Bello's character, which turned out to be blah.
That sums up my feelings pretty well. It held my interest enough to watch it through the end, but it never grabbed me. I really disliked all the characters (seriously, the kid might be the only one I didn't actively dislike), but at the same time, wanted to see where it went. I don't regret watching it, but I could've done just fine without it.

I agree about Maria Bello.
But, the only character I REALLY would have liked to have seen more of was Isaac.

Also - the inner suffering that Ali Wong conveyed during many of her scenes was masterful.
