Giants tied for 12th:
12 (t): NEW YORK GIANTS / 0
HC: Joe Judge
GM: Dave Gettleman
Andrew Thomas earning an All-Pro honor at a premium position made up for a class that only produced one other sustainable starter out of nine selections. Darnay Holmes has been up and down from the start of his career but 11 starts (potentially and counting) at nickel from a fourth rounder presents good value. The misses along the offensive line have contributed to the grade flattening out overall and none of their five 6th/7th round picks exceeded expectations for sustainable time. Tae Crowder did see plenty of starts but he played his way on to the waiver wire before the end of year three.
1(4) Andrew Thomas – OT/Georgia
2(36) Xavier McKinney – S/Alabama
99(3) Matt Peart – OT/Connecticut
4(110) Darnay Holmes – CB/UCLA
5(150) Shane Lemieux – OG/Oregon
6(183) Cam Brown – LB/Penn State
7(218) Carter Coughlin – LB/Minnesota
7(238) TJ Brunson – LB/South Carolina
7 (247) Chris Williamson – CB/Minnesota
7 (255) Tae Crowder – LB/Georgia
Analysis of the 2020 NFL Draft - (
New Window )
Darnay Holmes, Shane Lemieux, and Tae Crowder have all been starters. It is not their fault there were no better players on the roster.
Carter Coughlin and Cam Brown have both played and contributed.
The only dud was 7ᵗʰ rounder Williamson.

McKinney can be excellent - I think he will be.
But factually - he has started 29 out of 50 games since being drafted by a previous regime.
Anyway, decent, not great draft. Mid level grade is warranted in my view.
In fairness though, I felt that 2020 was the first year that DG was stripped of a lot of his power so to speak. I think Judge owns the successes and failures of the 2020 and 2021 drafts.

I was going to say TJ Brunson never saw playing time but he did have 3 tackles in 2020. I have no memory of the giants drafting him though.

Wouldn't anyone take Chase Young or even a safety in Jeremy Chin over Thomas?

7 WRs, 4 CBs and 3 Safeties in the top 25 redraft.
That really shows where the game is going
Peart has been a whiff.
Thanks
Peart was the big disappointment in that draft class. It looks like the Giants will give him one more chance to salvage his career.
I think Lemieux has won the opening day starter job all 3 years, only to lose the job due to injury 2 out of 3 seasons. There is still room for him on the roster if he can keep from getting injured.
Andrew Thomas represents the first upper tier OL drafted by Giants since 2004 (Snee). That is mind blowing to me but explains the root cause of most of the long standing offensive issues.
I agree with the poster above regarding Lemieux and also with the other poster with Judge having a big say in special teamers.
Bingo.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would take Chase Young, who has one foot firmly in "bust" territory right now (injuries notwithstanding) over Andrew Thomas, who is looking like a cornerstone, perennial All-Pro at a marquee position.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that post was sarcasm...at least I hope so.

Terrible article. Chase Young wouldn’t be picked over Thomas and Wirfs.

Bleacher report is garbage, probably written by a crappy AI. I wouldn't even take Jefferson over AT, a stud LT is much much harder to find.
