NFC North favorite?

SFGFNCGiantsFan : 5/17/2023 7:13 pm
I know we haven't even reached MDW, but FA-for the most part-is in the books & we're post draft so...who you liking in that division?

I'd go Detroit, based on how they finished last season, including that ass kicking they gave us at MetLife. I think Chicago is still a year or two away & I still have ?s about Fields as a QB/passer. I have no clue how good Jordan Love is so I can't take the Packers. The one game I really seen of Love-@ KC in '21-he sucked, but that's a small sample size obviously. Perhaps he's great, but he's a complete unknown to me. & then the Vikes...they were one of the most fraudulent 13 win teams in NFL history last year. I believe they had a negative point differential too. They scream 'Taking a step back' to me.

What say you?
Detroit and Minny

will have tougher schedules, so a hot Chicago , or GB could slip in.
Detroit likely starts 0-1, but wins the division at 9-8, maybe 10-7 though Minny should be around there too.
I like the Lions as favorite but ...
wahl35 : 5/17/2023 8:03 pm : link
they're everyone's darlin's right now. Can they live up to that?
I don't think Minn has improved their defense much if at all, aside from getting Flores as DC. Both teams play NFC west and south. Lions get the Ravens and Dallas. Vikes get SF and the Bengals. If i had to choose right now, I'll take the Lions side of that one. It should be a tight division race though.
I like Detroit

I was very impressed when they played the Giants last year. Pulling for DC.

I was surprised Chicago went the direction they did at QB and that is one to watch imv.

I like Detroit.

I think they drafted horribly in the first, but ironically in a way that will help them win a couple of more games this year. Gibbs and Campbell can help them right away. Just bad long term value. Additionally, I think Brian Branch is an immediate starter and upgrade for them. He may be the best value pick of the draft. Would have been happy with him at 25. Laporta at TE is a we will see.

A guy who will not help this year but could end up being the best pick of the draft - Hooker.

They are on the way up in my opinion.
Detroit played with fortitude last season

I'd pick them if I had to select a team. The way they got eliminated and then just punched the Packers in the face on the last night of the season - I was impressed.
i see them

bunched up between 6-9 wins whoever plays hot late gets it.
Vikings until proven otherwise

Detroit is the "hot take" pick. I'll take Cousins and JJ over whatever Detroit throws out there before they crash and burn with their gimmicky coach...

Who knows for sure if the guys will fit in? I think they can help win more than two games :)

Lol. Talk about a hot take.
Detroit has potential...

Did Minnesota fix their secondary?
Didn't the Giants

Yes, I will go with the Lions. It is a well put together team that is ascending.
I’d have to go with Detroit.
Section331 : 5/18/2023 8:55 am : link
Minny was unbelievably lucky last year, going something like 7-0 in one score games. That’s unsustainable. I wouldn’t rule out the Bears either, if they can get decent QB play out of Fields, they could be pretty good.
I could see Green Bay finishing last,

and ending up with a top 5 draft pick.
Detroit is the best team on paper
Nephilim : 5/18/2023 10:48 am : link
But they are the "trendy" pick, plus they are the Lions, so I would be loathe to pick them

In case you need the term "hot take" defined.... it's when the "majority of people agree on something that appears to be trending." The Lions are the quintessential definition of the term "hot take." What have the Lions done to have EVERYONE on this board pick them. Until proven otherwise... they are "The Lions." And yes... the hot take is picking them over the Vikings.

Vikings had some fluke wins last year, like Buffalo unable to pull of a snap to kill clock and seal the win. They barely beat NYG in their game with a very long FG. That type of success with poor defense cannot sustain.

The Lions had a top 5 offense and a defense that got increasingly better as the season wore on. Goff played better, too. Their supporting cast is very interesting and sure, the Vikings have a good group at WR and a very good TE, but their line is inconsistent and their defense did not get any better in FA or the draft.

I see DET winning it and winning ten games. I do see Green Bay being solid too. Bears, I guess it depends on how much Fields improves. He was a great scrambler last year but terrible throwing. What level can he get to this year with the addition of Moore? I like Moore but he's been wasted by bad QB play.
I could end up being wrong
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 5/18/2023 3:58 pm : link
but I just get this feeling that Justin Fields is going to be a star in this league. I'm sure this could end up being a terrible prediction. But I think the Bears have a chance.
