The best Giants RB I've ever seen. He saved TC's job with that last game vs. Washington in the '06 finale. And-all that said-I don't think we win it all in '07 if he's still a Giant.
And I do think-seeing that Jerome Bettis is in-he deserves Canton consideration. He makes it if he has one more season like his last 5 seasons in the NFL.
I've run the gamut on my Tiki feelings. Haha. I've come to accept him as a great Giant who was a pain in the ass at times, but his positives outweigh his negatives.

I agree with this take pretty much identically. We must be around the same age (mid 30s)...I went through my tiki love-to resentment- to admiration over the years.
I can now say I look back fondly on his time in Blue.
Coughlin hadn’t fixed Tiki’s fumbles he may have never had the opportunity to have that week 17 game.
I think that was what rankled Giants' fans as much as his comments about Eli. He blamed Coughlin for his retirement, but it was Coughlin that made him a star instead of a turnover machine. Plus, Tiki said about how he was worn down because of Coughlin's treatment, but had some of his best games in the last game of the season.

Shockey was the same and had his best season under Coughlin.
I have waited for Tiki’s “come clean” story for a long time and this
Is probably as close to that as anyone can expect from Tiki. I always believed that Tiki retired because he no longer wanted to put in as much effort as Coughlin had made him realize how hard he needed to work to continue to be successful. Regarding Eli, Tiki was so conscious of his post-football media opportunities that he would have been crazy to take a deliberate shot at the biggest sports celebrity in the NY market.
Now, was this Tiki’s spin 15 years after it happened or was this how he felt at the time? Tiki being Tiki?

I think when Coughlin arrived, we found out who was cool just getting stats and a paycheck and who was willing to do the work to win a championship.
Remember he had an interview with BBI a few years ago
He kept saying how worn out he was, but he did part of that to himself with all his side jobs and projects. He was trying to start his media career while he was still playing, burning the candle at both ends.
(and couldn't keep his mouth shut), but he had over 10,000 yards rushing (and a bunch more receiving). Those are HOF stats. He hasn't helped himself with his off the field "exploits" over the years, but he seems in a better place now, and his radio show is pretty good. At some point he needs his place in Canton. Barkley has a WAYS to go to be Tiki's equal at this point.

Those were fun!
Yes +++. Tiki cares about one thing, Tiki. He will do/say anything, and throw anyone under the bus, to be relevant.
This is so on target, that it's surreal.
