My dad ran into a former Giant in Barbados

OBJ_AllDay : 5/19/2023 11:05 pm
Hey guys. Meant to post this a few days ago but my dad got back from a trip with his fiancé last Sunday (the day I was leaving for a vacation with my wife and daughter to Fort Lauderdale) and I basically was on a no phone vacation while there.

But my dad ran into Phil Simms, his wife and his son on vacation in Barbados and had several encounters with them during his stay at whatever hotel he was at. Even took a few pictures with him. Said he was a good guy and it seemed like they all hit it off. Just thought it was cool and that I would share.
Glad to hear Phil's enjoying ife.

Funny in a sad way to see this the same day Jim Brown's passing is noted.

To anyone on this site over 50 Phil Simms will never be a "former Giant."
Was Phil's son

My daughter saw him and Peyton Manning at Disney World a couple of weeks ago. They were filming the ‘history of Im going to Disney’ segment for an upcoming Peyton’s places.

And of course, Phil Simms was the first to be able to say "I'm going to Disneyland" after a Super Bowl win, Super Bowl XXI.
I would have been

awe struck.
Phil Simms

The twin sister of a very good
friend was his next door neighbor
in Franklin Lakes. Kids grew up together.
The giants have been blessed with great
men at the QB position. Including Eli and
DJ. Tough competitors but gentleman on
and off the field

I think Phil Simms deserves being referred to as more than "a former Giant." Accurate, but very understated.

I actually laughed out loud. I was expecting a Chad Bratzke type player.

Agreed, Phil Simms will always be a Giant! I'm a 66 year old lifetime fan of Big Blue, and I can remember the Phil Simms days like it was yesterday!

I was scanning the thread for this.
Hard to believe Phil is pushing 70.

Loved him since that first win against Tampa Bay.
Haha.

This is like starting a thread titled 'My dad ran into a member of the E Street Band' & it was Bruce.

Haha I get it. I’ve gotten my fair share on it. Listen I’m as die hard a g men fan as they come and can’t remember missing many games from the age of 7 or 8 on but I’m only 37. I also didn’t want to give it away in the thread title and play spoiler. Tough crowd! To be honest I sadly don’t remember much of simms or LT and it makes me sad. I was a kid at the Monday night football game when the cowboys played the giants. They were doing something for either simms or Taylor. I happened to catch Taylor in the parking lot before the game and was awe struck. At halftime simms threw a bomb to Taylor and completed it. That was the highlight of the night. The game was already over by halftime…
