NFL Finance Committee member Jim Irsay on the Commanders' sale: "There's certain criteria that has to be met. It's not there. It doesn't mean it can't get there. It's complicated."
Also: "You hope it gets done, but there's more work to be done at this point."

WaPo suggests there's concern that the financing includes

debt in excess of what the NFL allows. Another article suggested the structure of the bid made it difficult to figure out if the lead group would own at least 30% (the league's required minimum) of the team.
