Hakeem is at the top. He's in the tier with Otis Anderson. It's a shame injuries got him because he was awesome yet humble.
It's a travesty what injuries did to him. It has to be hard to live with that thought if you're Hakeem. He was on his way to being a HOF receiver and after that Talib injury it was all but over.
So many people got caught up in the hype of Cruz during that Super Bowl run, but Nick's was the work horse during that run. The catch and run for the TD in the Atlanta game. And then he did almost the exact same catch and run on the game winning drive in XLVI, but he didn't get the TD. He was amazing.
And we have just so many. No idea if this is normal among other teams, but I love that this happens with the Giants. Seeing former players all around the facility can only help current players, rooks and vets alike. It's like the personification of walking past those lombardi's in the lobby.
RE: RE: Their are certain tiers of gratitude I have for former Giants.

+1. His career getting cut short is probably the one that gets to me the most. Fuckin Aqib Talib man.
What did Aquib Talib do? If I remember correctly, he got the dreaded Lis Franc injury and never was able to return to form. He was my favorite Giant. I had a feeling about him in that draft. When we drafted him I went crazy, I just knew he was going to be a star. So sad he got that lis Franc before he could secure a big contract too.
I remember watching his college highlight vid and seeing him catch a pass behind his back. How many WRs/TEs have we had over the yrs who struggled catching perfect passes at their numbers.
have drafted Nicks unlike early good Reese? I don't think so.
Recall that Reese wanted another received--I believe Darrius Heyward-Bey? This is something he openly admitted. Sometimes you get lucky and your second choice is the better one.
He was so young. IIRC, after his third year, only Randy Moss had caught more balls at the same age. A real shame, and sadly the same thing is true of a lot of talented players from those teams.
Nicks is easily in the top 5 WR the Giants have had since I've been
He was the true#1 and was on his way to doing big things in this league. Only the dogs get the #88 and he was one. Sad to see injuries cut his career short.
On the subject of Hakeem's health and lack of longevity,
which was cruelly cut short, wish to hell Dabes would take seriously losing 25 lbs. He's so intense, guessing his BP and heart health are not helped by that gut of his.

Don't forget his Hail Mary grab at the end of 1st half in GB!
but heard Michael Irvin talking about how good he was and how much Nicks reminded him of himself. He was right.
Such a bummer for someone so young and talented to lose those great years ahead and even worse he didn't get the big contract first. One of my favorites.
Talent alone...the best Giants WR I've ever seen. The dude was a beast. It is a damn shame his body betrayed him because I think he ends up in Canton if his body doesn't break down. He was THAT good.

I believe he had 8 td's in his first 8 games in 2010 (only his second season) before the compartment syndrome in his leg slowed him down. Still finished with 1,000+ and 11 td's. He was a monster. What a shame it was all cut short. Dallas probably feels the same about Dez.
Giants seem to do a great job of keeping former players close to the organization despite the regime changes. good stuff.

As others have said, no SB in '11/12 without him.

Don't you know the BBWC narrative is "everyone hates the Maras"?
Nicks, Plax, Toomer, Cruz, and OBJ.
I loved watching him play and am still frustrated to this day that his career got cut short.

Hahahahah I remember people thinking he was literally pulling the exact card from the air.
