Nice things about Waller here...

OTA # 1

Best offensive player- Darren Waller

Best defensive player- Nick Mc Cloud

Great to hear that Mc Cloud had 3 PBUs in a single practice. Last year he performed extremely well for a waiver pick up that was thrown into action following injuries.

And his work as a gunner was very good as well throughout the entire season.

Nice pick up after he was a Bills final cut and the Giants won the rights to him when they claimed him.

he played well for us, I hope Wink and Co can develop him further. He has decent size at 6 foot 195 pounds.
i like mccloud a lot

i think he's probably got a better chance of sticking than oruwariye and robinson. and maybe plays more than expected in some kind of safety/corner role. he played 1/4 of his snaps in the box last year and tackled really well (on 2 missed tackles on 40ish attempts). he played another 1/4 in the slot and then the other half outside. also a core ST'er on all coverage units.
Wink loves McCloud
Vanzetti : 5/23/2023 2:16 pm : link
Because he has a natural feel for the blitz, which is absolutely key and generally can't be taught.

His coverage abilities are "meh" but he sticks his nose in there. He is the perfect example of guy who is far better in Wink's defense than he would be in another defense.

To me, that's what I love about Wink: his schemes allow otherwise limited players, such as McCloud and Jihad Ward, to be real contributors.
Mcloud is a good

Blitzer from the slot too. Would use him as a 3rd S at times this year if we have better CB play

AS an aside with Dottino, he is like North Korean state media. The dude is a complete shill for the organization. I used to skip his weekly spots on WFAN, though-for all I know-he might still do them.
Man it hasn't taken long

to go from a roster devoid of talent to a place where good players are going to get cut. DB, tackle RB all with surplus talent IMO
Unfortunately, Y28, I had the time

If I had been home, I don't think I could have made it past 5 minutes. Dottino is insufferable, and Medow was a close second
The Giants are going to have difficult decisions

at CB if everyone is healthy at the end of camp. The locks IMO are Jackson, Banks, Flott, Robinson, and McCloud. That likely leaves one spot for Holmes, Hawkins, Oruwariye, Williams, and Green. Hopefully they will land a late round pick or two from the players that don't make the final cut.
