I’d be interested in seeing who values him? Was he a product of a friendly altitude or was that largely irrelevant?
He has about 20% more FG attempts at home vs. road, but that's a product of their offense - the kicker can't manufacture attempts for himself. Leaving volume aside, McManus' accuracy is better on the road (84.5% success on FG on the road vs. 78.6% at home), but that may be a result of the altitude at home allowing for some longer attempts - the altitude would help with distance but not accuracy, and that seems like what we're seeing here.
Based on that, I would say that McManus gets a distance boost at high altitude, as all kickers do, but that his road numbers suggest that he might actually be a more consistent and reliable kicker elsewhere, even if it means that his range doesn't extend to ~60 yard attempts when he's closer to sea level.

Makes sense
Dallas is desperate for a good kicker....this is like a gift for them.

Altitude does also help with accuracy, as the ball creates less side spin, similar to a golf ball.
I would maybe cite the high winds being next to the Rockies but that stadium was designed extremely well in negating extreme gusts. I use to live 2 miles from the stadium.
Didn't they bring him in as camp competition for Josh Brown, and he did so good they kept him also. Then they traded him to the Broncos. He was there for 9 years, a long time for a kicker

You didn't notice any difference in altitude? Where were you coming from, Colorado Springs?
