He's a full-on twat. I saw another tweet somewhere earlier in which he badmouthed the Mets again.

FWIW.
Just seems players are so brittle these days.
Who knows what the contract will look like when five years have come and gone, but early returns suggest Mets may have been better off without Correa.
Better get a win tonight with Carrasco on the bump tomorrow.

I'd rather Bartolo started....seriously
But what about their participation trophies? lol
Gare "does vogelbach look like he's limping?"
Keith "no that's just the way 300 pounders walk"
Yeah, I noticed that too. VERY impressive by Alvy. Love the kid.
List of catchers in #MLB that have hit at least 6 homers in an age 21 season since 1978:
Joe Mauer, 2004: 6
Francisco Alvarez, 2023: 6 (it’s May 24)
That’s it. That’s the list.

Amazing stat!

Sounds like he's ok. Day-to-day.
That sucks. Rooting for them to lose.

If you're citing Ernest Dove, I'd hold off. He's a great guy but he's had injury updates in the past that didn't end up being accurate. If somebody else is reporting this then I apologize.

who have spoken to the White Sox get the impression they are more likely to add players to try and win then trade off. Only 5.5 out of 1st in a weak division.
That sucks. Rooting for them to lose.
Can't fault the White Sox. 7-3 over their last 10 games. The Mets are 5.5 out in the NL East and I doubt any of us are throwing in the towel. Obviously, a lot of time before the deadline but it also wouldn't shock me to see them stick around. That division isn't good.

We need scrubby teams that we can take advantage of (sounds horrible to say, lol). Do any clubs with viable trade candidates come to mind?
Vogelbach, who received a second chance at the DH role after his platoon with Darin Ruf failed spectacularly last season, has hit just two home runs in 96 at-bats this season despite 52% of those at-bats coming while batting fifth or sixth in the Mets order.
What continues to plague Vogelbach is an overwhelmingly passive philosophy at the plate.
According to Baseball Savant, the 30-year-old left-hander opts not to swing at 46% of pitches that cross over the heart of the plate, or down the very middle of it. The MLB average in that stat is just 28%.
On the shadow of the plate — or outer edges of the strike zone — Vogelbach’s take rate is 20% over the league average of 47%.
While his on-base percentage is at .368 this season thanks to 21 walks, his main objective isn’t free passes. It has to be power, and he hasn’t shown enough of it in his Mets career based on his eight home runs in 300 plate appearances. Over his last nine games alone prior to Thursday’s series finale against the Cubs, Vogelbach was 2-for-his-last-22 (.091) with eight strikeouts.
Mets must DH Mark Vientos full-time over Daniel Vogelbach - ( New Window )

Absolutely no reason he should be getting AB's over Vientos. Put Baty in LF or DH Alonso if you want to give Vientos reps in the field.
Utter stupidity

+1 Mind numbing, really.
Marte's OPS is .601 and Canha is .675. Pham is .656.
Along with 1B, corner OF spots are where most good teams have their big bats (Betts, Soto, Acuna, Arozarena, Y Alvarez etc ). And this is not just true now. It has always been true: Ruth, Bonds, Aaron etc.
So its really a structural problem. Mets spent tons of money but not on positions where you can get big bats. Too much focus on WAR and not enough on OPS.
They did sign Marte but that was a ticking time bomb. And I presume the plan is to get Ohtani. But if they continue to play this awful brand of baseball, will Ohtani be willing to leave the West Coast and come to Flushing?
Also, why is Mauricio not playing a corner OF spot at Syracus?. He could learn the position in a month or two with his athleticism. Instead, they are going round Robbins Barn and putting Mauricio at 2B and McNeil in the OF? That makes no sense. 2B is a much more important position defensively, and given Roonie's size, very unlikely he can play 2B.
This organization is just a clusterfuck. Even look at the Correa mess.
That's why Vogey's OPS+ is actually higher than Lindor's. Though both are below ML average (98 and 97).

Mets roster moves:
• C Tomás Nido has been activated from the IL
• C Gary Sánchez has been designated for assignment
